Edirol Microphone Stand Adapter
Buy this adapter...but DON'T buy the Edirol case that's required to attach this to a mic stand, as it's cheap/funky and overpriced. I did some research and found that Leica (the camera company @ Leica-camera.us) sells a Lazer Level holder that will attach to the Edirol Mic Stand adaptor to hold the Edirol R-09-HR perfectly. The Leica strap is rubber, (the base is a thick hard plastic), and has incremental adjustments to hold the Recorder nice and snug (and worry free). Plus, if you're not using the Edirol recorder (for some insane reason), you can use the Lazer Mount to hold other brands..even cameras, cam corders and the like...all on a mic stand!Edirol Microphone Stand Adapter
Excellent for lightweight camcorders
This adapter will work with any piece of not too heavy equipment that uses a tripod mount, such as a lightweight recorder. It is even more useful with a camcorder since a microphone stand with a boom can get into far more positions than a tripod, for example if you want to get an overhead shot. It is also useful if you want to mike a piano as you can use tbe boom of the mike stand to get the recorder into the position you want.
The adapter is very easy to use and is totally steady once locked in place, although I would not want to try to attach anything heavier than about a pound to it.
could have used instructions
It's fine. However, the first time I tried to use it on a gig, I did not realize until later that I needed to remove the bottom piece with my thumbnail in order to mount the unit on the house's mike stand. My unit did not come with instructions.
