Customer Reviews
Brasileiro
Excellent 1992 collection of Brazilian drummers, singers, and songwriters then mixed and sweetened in L.A. by Sergio Mendez and some top drawer West Coast jazz musicians.
Sunshine on a ' cloudy day".
I fell in love with Sergio Mendes & Brasil66 back in the day, because the music was fresh and different from the Soul and R&B that was usually on the Radio or Stereo... Anyways, listening to "Brasileiro", with the opening sounds of Carnival drums, I felt lifted. To anyone who reads this review, the only thing I can is if you know any one who has this disc, pop it in your CD, or better yet, drive and let the rhythmns take you away.
Sergio Mendez does Brazil
I was a fan of Sergio Mendez since his trio days, then Brazil 65, 66, etc.
So, I would say this CD is for his fans or those who want an anthology of Brazilian music.
The CD is essentially a collection of different Brazilian music forms. Personally, I rather missed his usual jazzy, Bossa Nova, or Samba style on the CD.
