About the Brand
It started out as just a hike, no different than countless others I've taken into the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Little did I know I was about to come up with a mountain of an idea: Combine wholesome ingredients such as fruits and nuts to create a food product that's tasty, healthy and convenient.

In that instant, in May 2000, LÄRABAR was born. After scouring the aisles of grocery stores and noting popular flavors of ice cream and cookies, I delved into my own product development. Natural foods, I believed, should be fun and enjoyable as well as good for you. With friends and family serving as focus groups, I tinkered with recipes until a consensus on yummi-ness was reached.

The next step was to launch a company to market what would initially be five delicious LÄRABAR flavors: Cherry Pie, Apple Pie, Cashew Cookie, Banana Cookie, and Chocolate Coconut Chew. I also assembled a sophisticated manufacturing arm...what amounted to be a Cuisinart and a rolling pin. The first batch of bars I produced for retail had to be sealed by hand - all 500 of them!

Thank goodness we have machines for that job today. After all, we're producing millions of LÄRABAR's every year. They are a healthy indulgence you can feel good about eating.

And "feeling good" is what it's all about. Believe it or not, I used to be a junk food junkie - until I discovered how natural foods enlivened my mind, body and spirit. A passion for healthy living soon followed, and continues to be a driving force behind everything I do professionally and personally. I really appreciate the opportunity I have to make a positive difference in the world we live in.

Variety Packs are great for testing
Although Cherry Pie is definitely my favorite bar, this variety pack is a great way to keep a selection on hand. Cherry, Apple, and Lemon just happen to by my top three favorites from Larabar. I think I could eat two of these every day for snacks and not ever get tired of them.

As a side note if I had to create a secondary variety pack I think it would be Pecan Pie, Ginger Snap, and then plain Chocolate from the Jocolate line of bars.

I recently decided that since I'm now of (ahem) *a certain age*, I need to start watching what I put into my body more carefully. So although i'm not exactly a health nut, I am trying to make healthier choices in my diet.

I'm so happy I happened across this product! Amazon introduces me to so many fantastic products when they offer awesome deals, because I simply *must* check them out. I LOVE Larabars now! I've tried all three varieties offered in this variety pack, and the Cashew Cookie. So far, the Lemon Bar is my favorite. First of all, I adore nuts...in just about any fashion, in any food...love 'em. I love that there is nothing artificial in these...absolutely nothing. No artificial sweeteners, no high fructose corn syrup, no ingredients I can't pronounce, no chemicals, no gluten, no refined sugars...nothing but dates, nuts, and whatever fruit the flavor calls for. The Cherry Pie version is tart, but delicious. The Apple Pie does have the flavor of it's namesake, although the cinnamon is a bit strong for my taste, and the Lemon Bar is just the perfect balance of nuts, dates and lemon juice.

I have to confess: I'm now a Larabar addict...is there a Larabar Lover's Anonymous?? No more candy bars or granola bars for me! It will be Larabars ONLY!

Larabars are a great unprocessed and healthy snack! I have tried the Jocolat variety pack, and liked all 3 flavors in it. As far as this variety pack (Cherry, Apple, and Lemon), the Cherry and Apple taste much like you would expect. The "Cherry" is that of a Red Cherry taste, and the "Apple" is like an Apple-Cinnamon taste. The "Lemon" is a more pure lemon taste, unsweetened, and fairly tart. Nothing like an actual lemon bar you'd buy at the bakery. For those of you that enjoy the tartness and purity of lemon, you'll enjoy this variety pack. Otherwise, I'd suggest the one that has the Pecan Pie flavor in it--these taste just like a slice of Pecan Pie at Thanksgiving.
