Customer Reviews
Our Current Favorite
Our son is almost two and a half, and this is his , and our, favorite Thomas book. He can follow everything in the storyline, he enjoys all the problems that occur, the characters, and the feel-good ending. Amazingly, I am still not bored after 60-some readings. Very nice illustrations, and I consider it well-written.
Two boys' review: Not one of the better Thomas stories
I answered more why questions at the end of the book than received "What's that?" questions during the reading. That's a good sign my sons didn't connect with the storyline and weren't engaged by the illustrations.
We have several other Thomas books that were regulars in our bedtime reading collection. I say "were" because my sons are now 5-years old and 4-years old and both are a little too old for these picture books. Aim to read these with your 2-3-year olds.
I recommend these Thomas books instead: "A Cow on the Line" and "New Tracks for Thomas."
Not Our Favorite Thomas book - a review of "The Special Delivery"
This should be a favorite book. It has nice artwork and features many of our favorite friends: Cranky, Thomas (of course), Gordon, Harold the Helicopter, Toby, Percy, James, troublesome trucks (quantity = 2), Sir Topham Hatt, and Bulstrode (shown in the background)...
... BUT for some reason, it is not that popular with us. We liked "Thomas Goes Fishing" and "Thomas and the School Trip" better.
Three Stars. [C+] Good artwork. Nice Read-aloud. But something is lacking. Perhaps it is that the tone is not as sweet as the other aforementioned books.
