About the Author

Marc Cerasini's writing credits include The Complete Idiot's Guide to U.S. Special Ops Forces and Heroes: U.S. Marine Corps Medal of Honor Winners and several projects for Tom Clancy, including creating the bible for the Clancy Power Play series, writing the YA action/adventure thriller The Ultimate Escape for Clancy's NetForce series, and writing a major essay on Clancy's contribution to the technothriller genre for the national bestseller The Tom Clancy Companion. Among the movie tie-in novelizations Marc has written are Wolverine: Weapon X, based on the popular X-Men series, the USA Today bestseller AVP: Alien Vs. Bauer is left under-exploited..
Jack Bauer is a subject that requires an especially taut script, filled with action, for a full 24 hours, and also with lots of unexpected twists and turns.

"Vanishing Point", though has a good premise, but peters out badly during the execution of that plot. The basic storyline revolves around ultra-modern warfare-technology research, and how it can turn the fortunes of a country. When terrorists threaten to take down the most advanced warfare-research facility in the world, it's up to Jack Bauer and his team of resourceful CTU colleagues to thwart their attempts.

As I said earlier, the premise is interesting, and I expected some really advanced technology to be explored, exploited and explained in the book. However, the story falls flat in that department. Never mind, I told myself. At least the action would be non-stop. However, to my utter dismay, their are hours in the book where the content begins at 15 minutes into the hour, then jumps to 48 minutes past the hour, and abruptly the chapter (hour) changes. I felt cheated. Never mind, I told myself yet again. At least the signature twists and turns of 24 would pepper the storyline. No luck there also.

Over all, (I'm sorry to say but) Mark Cerasini is coming out to be a second-rate 24 author - at best.

OK read - don't expect it to fill-in for a missing season though!

This is the freakin best freakin 24 book I've read so far....I have all of them.....veto power, operation hell gate, cat's claw and this one was the best!!!! I need to buy Chaos Theory Now!!!!! I would buy this book but I already have it!!! Hahahahahahahaha! I can't wait until Feb. for the new one....Collateral Damage!!! And they should definitely make a series of 24 movies.....man that would make $$$$!!!!!!
