![]() | Mad Men - Season One
Buy new: $30.99 / Used from: $26.94 Mad Men is absolutely one of the best shows on TV. It is a spiritual successor to the Sopranos, but set in the idyllic world of the late 50's Madison Ave, a period that defined advertising that we know today. It is an unique, fascinating and wonderful character drama like you've never seen before. New episodes start in July.

![]() | John Adams (HBO Miniseries)
Buy new: $36.99 / Used from: $30.22 This amazing HBO miniseries that chronicles one of our most important founding fathers, is the perfect match with Independence Day. After the first two episodes you will be filled with patriotism you didn't know you had.

![]() | Californication - Season One
Buy new: $28.99 / Used from: $19.20 Californication produced some of the funniest moments of the year, almost like some sort of sex-filled version of Seinfeld. David Duchovny is Hank Moody a lovable but screwed up writer thinks he can somehow rekindle the romance between his long time girlfriend and mother of his teenaged daughter, by sleeping with lots of other women.

![]() | Flight of the Conchords - The Complete First Season
Buy new: $19.49 / Used from: $18.90 If you've heard one of the songs from "New Zealand's former fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo" then you probably know what to expect from this HBO Series about the band. They find great ways to incorporate funny mock music videos in the middle of each show.

![]() | In Treatment
In Treatment gives us a unique daily format—each daily episode is based around four patients therapy. At the end of the week therapist played by Gabriel Byrne takes his turn on the couch, wrapping up the events of the week. You can't help to get sucked in to each character as their personas unfold in this incredibly intimate setting.

![]() | Dexter - The Complete Second Season
Buy new: $22.49 / Used from: $20.23 While it didn't premiere this year, Dexter's second season was a good as the first. If you haven't caught up with the best serial killer on television, now is a good time. The second season does a great job bringing you up to speed fast and taking the characters into thrilling new directions. New episodes start in September.

![]() | Dirty Sexy Money: Season One
Buy new: $27.99 / Used from: $18.75 I've been catching up with Dirty Sexy Money this summer myself. The show follows the reluctant and ethical family lawyer of the wealthiest family in New York. Peter Krause does a great job as the family lawyer and Donald Sutherland is the family patriarch. And each of the wealthy children of the family makes you glad you aren't rich.

![]() | Pushing Daisies - The Complete First Season
Buy new: $18.99 / Used from: $17.20 Pushing Daises is kind of a corny romantic comedy, but I love it. It is about a man you can touch dead things and bring them back to life, but can never touch them again. He brings his life long love back from the dead, but can never touch or kiss her. The show has a very quirky visual and storytelling style like something by Tim Burton.

![]() | Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles - The Complete First Season
Buy new: $18.99 / Used from: $14.94 I really didn't think that they would be able to pull off a series in the fractured timeline of the Terminator saga. But surprising in just a few episodes they were able to build a new story that stands apart from the movies.

![]() | Eli Stone: The Complete First Season
Buy new: $27.99 / Used from: $18.24 Eli Stone is about a lawyer that has an inoperable brain aneurysm which causes bizarre hallucinations. He begins to believe his hallucinations are actually divinely inspired visions of the future. Each episode is well written, well performed and not overly cheesy.
