Deer Radio
To start I don't feel everything about the device was described thoroughly on the website before I purchased the device. I put one of them up the day I received my order and tuned the FM frequency to an National Public Radio station in the area for talk radio as was recommended(that's right folks it is a radio hooked up to a motion sensor and has a light too). I heard the device go off at night (it woke me up) and the next morning the plants I was trying to protect with the device had been chewed on. Same the next night until the weather made them bed down. Save the money.

Did it scare them off at all? Not a bit.
I tried this product through a whole season and it made almost no difference to the deer entering my garden. I say `almost' as it did entertain them. Sadly I'm not joking; I discovered on a couple of occasions the deer standing within six feet of the device apparently listening intently to NPR on the radio. The one function it did serve was to alert me (I could hear the radio come on) when a deer entered the yard in the middle of the night.

Did it scare them off at all? Not a bit. It was also irritating as it keeps working during the day, there is no night only function. So if you work in the yard it will keep coming on and off as you move about the yard. It also tended to come on erratically if there was a bit of a breeze no mater how I adjusted the sensitivity.

All in all this product was a waste of time and money.

There are only two things that I have found that have made any difference to deer entering my yard. A fence and the Contech Electronics CRO101 Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler. The sprinkler worked brilliantly! The main down side to the sprinkler being that #1 it has to be connected to a water supply and #2 it will therefore not work in the winter months at least if you live in an area where it gets below freezing in the winter.

This product is all that it is advertised to be...prior to using Deer Chaser,the flowers in our yard were reduced to stumps because of the deer problem... We are not supporters of hunting and killing deer or any other animal for that matter. The Deer Chaser is a great humane alternative to controlling the damage done by these otherwise beautiful creatures. Our yard now looks great with tons of flowers and no more damage done by foraging deer. A great product worth its price.
