Product Description

The SteelSeries QcK-line of mousepads are made of high quality cloth material, providing a precise and consistent glide. All mousepads feature a specially designed non-slip rubber base which prevents the pads from sliding, no matter what surface the mousepad is placed on. The mousepads differ in dimensions and thickness, but not in precision, glide or quality. As some of the mousepads are very large, we highly recommend measuring how much space you have on your desktop before ordering.

You have so many different mouse pads, what's so special about these?
Our QcK-line of cloth pads have won so many awards, and received so much praise, that our review page might actually answer that question best. If you look at the SteelSeries QcK, the SteelSeries QcK mini and the SteelSeries QcK+ they all feature the same comfortable and responsive surface. The SteelSeries QcK heavy features the same XXL-sized dimensions as the SteelSeries QcK+, but it is three times thicker. This makes it even more comfortable and eliminations bumps and other problems from uneven surfaces.

Who helped you test this mouse pad?
Professionals from Team 3D and mousesports helped us with development of this surface.

So what's the big deal with a "professional gaming mouse pad"?
Communication with a computer through a mouse is essential for most professional gamers, as precision, accuracy, control and reaction time are keywords. To achieve optimal communication and performance with their expensive computer equipment gamers use a fairly low tech piece of gaming equipment: a mouse pad.

I think it is insane to spend that much money on something as simple as a mouse pad?
All mouse pads from SteelSeries are thoroughly researched, tested and optimized for gaming. See a "true" gaming product is by definition superior to any other piece of computer hardware and accessory. Gamers constantly make split-second decisions, razor-sharp movements and use their equipment much more extensively than practically any other consumer group in the world. That's why we spend so much time testing materials, durability, glide, precision and compatibility. And why we don't comprise on any of the above -- which unfortunately makes our product somewhat more expensive that the off-the-shelf mouse pad you might find from a no-name manufacturer. In short: it's much easier to aim with one of our surfaces.

So, how much better will I become with SteelSeries QcK-pads?
We don't know. Really. It all depends on what level you're already playing at. What we can promise you is that the glide of the pad is spectacular, that your mouse will pick up even the slightest and most minimal of movements, and that these are cornerstones in successful gaming. You might improve your game with 0.001% and you might improve your game with 10%. A better question would be: do you ever feel you could have communicated better and faster with your computer through your mouse?

You have so many different mouse pads, which one should I choose?
All our surfaces offer something unique. The glide, feel and comfort differs based on the material used to manufacture the product, but they all offer "gaming grade" precision and accuracy. Our surfaces perform roughly the same. How you personally feel about touching the material used to create the product, what mouse technology you use and your playing style is what makes either one of them "better" or more suitable for you. So, sorry, can't really answer that question.

Really smooth with the Logitech G9 mouse!4
I didn't like how the bottom surface of my Logitech G9 laser mouse was getting scratched, as well as the table, so I decided to look for a mouse pad. I really did not want to spend an amount of money where I could practically buy a new mouse (who really needs flashy lights on a mouse pad?), so the price for this pad was definitely the first one that caught my attention. SteelSeries is also a known brand for gaming products (I also own their headset).

I also own the Belkin F8E262-BLK WaveRest Gel Mouse Pad, which is in the same price range as this SteelSeries pad, but it's nowhere near as smooth.

The mouse pad is VERY thin that you can easily roll it up (that's actually how it will arrive in the package).

Sure, most will probably think a mouse pad isn't required for a laser mouse for it to work, but if you want more smooth movements/better tracking, avoid scratches to your mouse, you'll definitely want to pick this up. If you also own the G9 mouse, I highly recommend getting this.

fully satisfied5
Quite huge. Ive got Logitech LX8 and it works really nice and smooth as a set. Came in a roll. Doesnt slide on a desk. I would recommend that pad to everyone. Maybe a bit smaller size though.

Pretty good cloth mousepad4
After using my original Ratpad for about 8 years, I decided to finally get a replacement. The Ratpad had started warping slightly and the rubber feet were falling off. I decided on the SteelSeries QcK mouse pad as its replacement, but I was a bit wary cloth pads after having used a hard pad after so many years...

Pros compared to Ratpad:
+ Much smoother gliding, but sometimes I do miss the hard texture of the Ratpad.
+ Nice and thin so it doesn't get in the way.

Cons compared to the Ratpad:
- Despite the rubbery bottom, QcK still slides a bit after a day or so of use. This is important to me because my mouse rests on a slide-out keyboard tray.
- The cloth surface isn't as easy to clean.

Overall, I would say that it's an excellent mouse pad if you want a cloth pad, but I miss the sturdiness of the Ratpad. They're both excellent mousing surfaces for optical mice, so I guess it's really down to your own personal preferences.
