This thing does what a sawzall is supposed to do - it rips stuff apart. Instead of spending more on a fancier one, put the money towards extra blades. A brand new blade does more for cutting speed than a few extra amps do.

I've used many jigsaws, and I cannot say enough about the Bosch. The whole "drive train" on the thing is solid. Blade stays straight in curved cuts on thick stock. Great for coping too.

A heat gun is a must have item for the remodeler - but ofter overlooked. Stripping paint, softening linoleum, replacing window glass, etc etc. I have no need for variable heat - and instead of the version with a case, I find an old metal tool box a much better option- no worries of melting the case when packing up!

Good enough. It's a hose. It's durable. 50 feet is a very handy length. It's cheap. And it doesn't kink up too bad. Can't go wrong with this hose.

Drills through cement like butter, nice to have a 1/2 chuck for odd ball needs, mixes 50 pound bags of thinset with minimal complaining. Everybody needs at least ONE corded drill. Get a good one like this and you can handle all those miscellaneous jobs with one tool that will last forever.

Now that you've got your makita compressor - this will help justify the purchase. Keeping your tires at the right pressure will improve your gas mileage.

Infinitely better than the old stanely box cutter we all group up on. Keep one in every toolbox, no matter what you're doing, you're going to want one of these nearby.

Scraping can be a dangerous thing. Using anything less than the best will make it look like you used a rusty fork.

A tile saw is nice, but so isn't portability and speed. This will cut most anything you throw at it, quickly and cleanly. With the money you save not buying a wet saw, buy a good angle grinder and a diamond wheel for L cuts. The angle grinder has plenty of other uses.

CLC makes great stuff. I keep this one loaded with all my electrical tools. Lots of redundant tools that I have in other bags/toolboxes - screw drivers, pliers, etc - but worth it to be able to pick up one bag to do some electrical work, and know you're covered. Check out all their stuff - worth splurging a little for a few variations.

If you're like me and always toughed it out when working on your knees - maybe you too will finally try a pair of knee pads and wonder how you've made it so far through life without them. A MUST have when doing anything that involves kneeling.

12 amps - that's enough to tackle pretty much anything a 4 1/2 inch grinder CAN tackle. I use it mostly for cutting odd shapes in tile, but too many other uses to list. Keep your eyes out for deals on this - especially deals that include a case. If you go smaller, don't go below 8 amps or you'll be sorry.

Middle of the road chisels, but I've never needed anything better. More important than "better" chisels is learning how to sharpen. If you can't shave hair off your arm with it, it's not sharp. And unless you know how to sharpen, it won't shave hair off your arm.

Great when running wire and cables.

Solid, accurate, top comes off for easier storage/portability, and allows you to use either part as a rule for setting tile or whatever. You need a t-square anyways, spend the extra 20 bucks and you get much more quality and a more useful tool. (note this one can be sized down, avoiding the need to buy an additional short t-square)
