The songs feel like they could easily been on either Great Radio Controversy or Psychotic Supper, yet with a modern flair that doesn't feel forced. Exceptional whether you're a hair metal fan or not.

Perhaps their album recorded in 2001, and currently owned, and shelved, by Sony will someday see the light of day (pending lawsuit).

Anyway, amidst the greatest hits on this compilation are 3 new tracks, The Jones, Southern Comfort (hello again, 1988) & Bad Tattoo.

Buy used from: $25.99 [2000] Generation Swine is unadulterated genre-whoring and total crap. This album, even though Tommy's absent from it, is much better; more in the vein of Girls Girls Girls & Dr. Feelgood. In fact, it's probably right between the two quality-wise; though there's no doubting it would've been MUCH better with Tommy on it.

Buy new: $16.99 / Used from: $4.99 [2005] Two new songs by the Crue-sers reunited are found at the end of this compilation. Three if you have the Japanease import. While they're cetainly not vintage crue, they sound more like legitimate updates to their sound rather than just copying current material in a desperate attempt to stay relevent ($$).

Buy new: $9.97 / Used from: $1.97 [1999] After the failure of 1996's Slang, I think Def Leppard just decided to do what they do best.. and boy, did they! Euphoria feels like it should have come out in 1989 and if it had, would have been an absolute monster.

Buy used from: $0.01 [1999] This soundtrack contains the only officially released Nu GNR song, Oh My God. Problem is, it doesn't much sound like GNR, kind of like the Generation Swine era Motely Crue.

Buy used from: $42.49 [1999] Yes, this one hit wonder's (Once Bitten, Twice Shy) still active. The opening three tracks on this disk are excellent, slickly produced hair metal you could easily be fooled into thinking were originally released back in 1989 and in heavy MTV rotation.

Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $7.89 [2008] At first listen I was like, "Holy crap it's Hysteria II"!! It doesn't hold up that well to repeated listenings, at least the A-side. But it's solid and definately hair metal. At least on par with Euphoria, but lacks that killer ballad.
