By an Amazon.com customer
Heaven And HellHeaven And Hell by Black Sabbath
Buy used from: $2.50
Ronnie's best album with any band...period. classic after classic.
DehumanizerDehumanizer by Black Sabbath
Buy used from: $2.25
very heavy, and very underated. a true classic if i ever heard one. not a weak song on here. his voice sounds amazing on this one.
Dream EvilDream Evil by Dio
Buy used from: $1.96
my personal favorite in Dio's solo career. i thought Craig was more than a good replacement for Viv. great tunes and variety on this disc
The Last in LineThe Last in Line by Dio
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $3.09
i personally think that this album is more solid than Holy Diver. a straight out rocker
Long Live Rock 'n' RollLong Live Rock 'n' Roll by Rainbow
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $4.44
Ronnie and Ritchie really made a great effort with this one. packed with good songs.
Holy DiverHoly Diver by Dio
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $2.58
his most popular work. classics like Holy Diver, Rainbow in the Dark, and the should-be classic Stand Up and Shout are here. a couple songs aren't as noteworthy tho, namely Invisble and Shame on the Night
Mob RulesMob Rules by Black Sabbath
Buy used from: $1.99
his weakest work with Black Sabbath, but it still manages to be a great album. The Mob Rules, Voodoo, Sign of the Southern Cross, and Falling Off the Edge of the World are all great.
Lock up the WolvesLock up the Wolves by Dio
Buy used from: $1.74
totally neglected album, and i think one of Dio's better albums. certainly deserves more credit than Sacred Heart
Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED]Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED] by Rainbow
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $3.25
the album that put Dio into the spotlight. great songs on here, but some filler too.
Killing the DragonKilling the Dragon by Dio
Buy used from: $4.74
Dio's prominent return to his glory days
Master of the MoonMaster of the Moon by Dio
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $4.87
Dio's newest outing, and a damn good one. follows in Killing the Dragon's footsteps but overall a slower album.
The Elf AlbumsThe Elf Albums by Ronnie James Dio & Elf
Buy new: $32.99 / Used from: $7.98
not metal by any means, but good and catchy rock n' roll with that "classic" vibe. no wonder Ritchie Blackmore was so infatuated with them. it's harder to track this album down however, but it's got 2 of the band Elf's albums on one disc (and you can't buy the albums seperately on cd either) so i suggest scooping it up sooner rather than later.
MagicaMagica by Dio
Buy used from: $7.97
Dio's making a turning point on this one after the abysmal Angry Machines.
Sacred HeartSacred Heart by Dio
Buy used from: $19.99
i don't really care for this album at all. true, it does have some real gems like Sacred Heart, Rock 'n' Roll Children, Hungry for Heaven, and Fallen Angels but way to commercial and "poppy" sounding. if Dio would've continued this fashion, they would've became a hair metal band.
RisingRising by Rainbow
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $4.49
overrated in my opinion. not nearly as catchy as Rainbow's other work and has a very different progressive style. save it for the last of the 3 Dio-Rainbow albums you buy.
ElfElf by Elf
Buy used from: $3.46
nice little "honky-tonk rock" album here. good songs, but definitely not metal
Strange HighwaysStrange Highways by Dio
Buy used from: $2.50
like 3 good songs on this one. bad riffs all over the other stuff. Tracy G has got to be the worst guitar player Dio could've ever gotten. it's a shame he wasted time writing this instead of working on an album with Black Sabbath or at least a decent Dio solo album.
Angry MachinesAngry Machines by Dio
Buy used from: $7.97
the absolute worst point of his career. Double Monday and This is Your Life (a piano ballad?!) are the only listenable things on here. the japanese only track "God Hates Heavy Metal" is pretty good tho actually. don't pick this up unless you love Dio as much as i do.
