Customer Reviews
Poor Quality
This product looks really shoddy. It says it's leather but it's got this plastic stuff around the edges. The inside of it feels like some kind of rubber. I am really happy I didn't pay full price because I would have sent it back. It is not worth the listed price.
The Kindle fits into it well and the corners are rigid so it's securely held in place. It stays up well when I prop it up by folding the cover over. This is good. But I'd be ashamed to be seen with it in public.
Great buy for the money
I'm glad I read the reviews of this product because I may never have figured out how to insert my (original) Kindle. It meets my need especially the way to set it as an easel because I like to read when I eat and it is very difficult to read from the Kindle when it's laying flat. I was as first turned off by the color; however, I'm glad of it because it's immediately noticeable wherever it is which makes it easy to find if mislaid. It's also easy to hold when I'm lying down reading in bed. I'm not sure how protective it would be if I drop my Kindle on a hard surface but I'll try not to do that.
Overall Good
This is the 2nd cover I ordered, the first was too bulky, so I returned it. I liked the streamline design of this one, also the ability to stand it up easel style and the color. However the overall construction is a little on the cheap side and the metal clips that hold the kindle could damage your Kindle if your not careful. Luckily I saw a post on how to get your Kindle into it, so the risk is minimal.(Do not try to slide you Kindle in from the bottom!) They really should include instructions. It does hold my Kindle securely and for the price, I think the quality is passible.
I read in a forum, some have had the dye on the red version had come off onto their Kindles. I have not seen this and also have "skins" on mine so I think it is safe. I am pretty happy with it overall, it is easy to hold and to use my Kindle while in it and being able to stand it up and read hands free is great!
