A Foundational Book For The Developing Photographer.
Digital photography is quickly becoming a real interest for me. As part of my learning curve, I have built a small but solid library of books on the subject - I only have six or so books that I consider as essential foundation stuff. This book is among them and one I would strongly recommend to those just starting out.
It only briefly covers the areas of how to use a camera and this is better covered by other books. The real strength of this book lies in the creative realm. As the title suggests, this book covers the areas of composition and creativity.
This is a book that provides the information in easily understood terms using great photographic examples. By practising and experimenting photographically with the information contained within, you'll quickly start to elevate you abilty to turn nice shots into well thought out "Wow" images.
I found this book so helpful, I purchased a second copy for my father who, despite is great technical camera knowledge, was struggling with the concept of composition.
If you are already proficient and well-developed at photography, Mastering Composition will not tell you anything new. However, if you are like me and just starting your journey to photographic enlightenment, this is definately one to add to your collection.
brushing up on your photographic composition
I have been a photographer for many years, but i do not have the natural eye for composition of some photos that i take. this is and excellent book on composition, which gives your pointers on what to look for and some rules in composing good photos.
Great book for beginer
If you are just starting this a good book and if not just starting, it is a good review.
