Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com Review
Billed as a training manual for entering Earth's future, Something in This Book Is True is about harnessing the personal power inside each of us. It's a companion to Frissell's earlier effort, Nothing in This Book Is True, but It's Exactly How Things Are, about which Jay Kinney of Wired said, "despite the sheer unbelievability of half the book, the author's goodwill and spiritual intentions are so infectious that the book ends up being a heartwarming experience." In the first book, Frissell took New Age sentiments and blended them with conspiracy theories in an attempt at a unified theory, including alien grays, cattle mutilations, crop circles, the Great Pyramid, Sacred Geometry, and secret colonies on Mars. In Something in This Book Is True, he takes time to retrace that particular history and leads readers into the realm of the millennial future. Of note to those interested in comics artists are the six full-page illustrations by underground artist Spain.
About the Author
Bob Frissell is a master rebirther and teacher of 26 years whose books are regarded as underground spiritual classics. In addition to Nothing in This Book is True, But it's Exactly How Things Are, he is the author of Something in This Book is True and You Are a Spiritual Being Having a Human Experience. Frissell was trained by Leonard Orr, the rebirthing pioneer, and by Drunvalo Melchizedek, the originator of the Mer*KA*Ba and Unity Breath meditations.
Customer Reviews
Out of Nothing, comes Something...
After reading the first book, I was blown away by the total integration of Bob Frissel's material. He has done it again in this second book. It's more than a sequel. It's a necessary companion to the first book! If you liked 'Nothing...' 'Something...' has the same qualities, only more so. The books should be sold together! This book is one of such complete integration that one can only agree, or dissagree completely with it. No part of the book can be taken without taking it in it's entirety! A MUST read for anyone interested in unravelling the 'secrets' of existence!
Funny and Touching.
This is easily my favorite of Bob's books. His facts are way off but the Something true in this book is well worth it. The personal story about EST and getting it is hilarious, as well as the line about him managing to not lock himself out of his car. His encounter with Babaji seems genuine and hearwarming. Skip the "facts" in this one and just listen to Bob's journey. He's a cool guy.
Disapointing
The author means well, but this book doesn't measure up to the first one. The first half of the book is informative, but the second half of the book reads like a plug for rebirthing and gets too auto-biographical and boring. I think this book will hurt Mr. Frisell's credibility and that's a shame because he really does have a lot to offer.
