Most of us have become masters of multitasking--answering phones, checking e-mail, and reading simultaneously, and Corningware follows suit with dishes designed for the microwave, oven, tabletop, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Corningware's French White bakeware combines the functionality of classic designs with contemporary styling. This 2-1/2-quart oval baking dish is ideal for pastas, casseroles, or meats, and features a glass lid with an easy-to-grasp handle (but as with all Corningware and other ceramic or glass bakeware, you'll always need to use potholders when handling the dish or its lid). The dish itself has no handles; however, its impressive 10-year warranty (one year on the glass lid) more than compensates for this shortcoming. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

Nice cooking piece and serving
It's great to cook and serve in one dish. We even store the leftovers right in the casserole. Just remember to tell the kids it's hot when it comes out of the oven. Dishwasher safe.

Good quality dish
The dish is of good quality, although the bottom of the dish is rough and can scratch counter tops. The one I received is made in China.

Casserole Dish an important part of the kitchen
My wife wanted a large casserole dish to add to her kitchen cooking supplies. This CorningWare 2-1/2 Quart oval dish works perfect for her needs. Often, when you have guests coming, or are preparing food for a large group, you want prepare the food ahead of time - then just warm it at the last minute for serving. A casserole dish works great in many of these type of situations. Just stick it in the oven, and go about your other duties - the food will be ready when you are. Also, we've discovered that rice has a completely different texture when "baked" in a casserole dish in the oven as opposed to using a rice cooker or the boiling water method.

One note of caution on this dish - it does not have handles or a large lip so handling it when hot out of the oven can be a problem. Also, the glass lid is not very secure on the top. Still, I recommend this for any who are interested in purchasing a casserole dish.
