The Marvelous 3 is a band with an urbane name and a brand of pop-rock to match. Lead singer and guitarist Butch Walker often sings suspended notes in a timbre resonating heavily with nasal Bowie-ness. Drummer Slug and bassist Jayce follow suit with riffs that stop just short of grungy aggression, tempered with a polished reserve. Sound like the perfect Brit band? You'd say yes when you hear how Walker rounds out his words with proper British diction. But this trio from Atlanta would have you fooled. Maybe they're poseurs? Who cares. With lyrics cheekier than Ben Folds's and hooks far more memorable than Third Eye Blind's or Matchbox 20's, their songs are refreshingly structured and predictable in a way that is wholeheartedly gratifying. A combination of '90s noisy guitar rock, '80s pacing, and '70s glam, Hey! is unapologetically radio-ready and a hell of a lot of fun. --Beth Bessmer

Entertainment Weekly
It's tempting to write off this Atlanta trio as just another Third Eye Blind clone [but] Hey! is actually more Cheap Trick than cheap imitation.

People
You may find it tough to resist the word games played by newcomer Butch Walker ... lead scribe, singer and guitarist for this Atlanta-based trio.

Putting the fun back in rock n'roll5
Much like getting a good grade on a test you didn't study for, or finding a four-leaf clover, listening to Marvelous 3 is a pleasant surprise. The music isn't incredibly intense nor is it innovative, but what it lacks in innovation it more than makes us for in jump-up-and-down fun. Songs like "You're So Yesterday", "Freak of the Week", "Write It On Your Hand" and "Vampires in Love" are good old fashioned power pop gems that conjure up memories of Weezer minus their geekiness. Hey Album is an energetic twelve song romp through bad relationships, yet the stories are told with surprising peppiness and ingenuity. The band brings forth one of the most energetic, fun live shows you'll ever see, and if you're looking for something not so heavy and dreary, Hey Album just might be the peppy tunes you're looking for.

Going straight to the top5
This album is pure brilliance. Never before have I heard music such as this by any band. The lyrics and rhythms of their songs are ingenious, from Freak of the Week and You're So Yesterday to Vampires in Love and Over Your Head. This is one of those albums which, much like their first, you want to leave in your stereo indefinately. Their live shows are beyond description, and must be seen to be believed. These guys are going to be around for quite some time. If you love really good music, check out this CD!

Great harmonies and excellent vocals5
The songs all have their own twist about them. I have gone through every song, and loved them all. I get a new favorite every month. The lyrics were greatly written and the whole album was produced to the fullest.
