Learning the numbers
This toy is great for the repetition of learning numbers (verbal and symbolic). It "names" the numbers in a clear "voice". By the time my daughter was one, she knew all her numbers 0-9 as well as the colors and shapes. She played with this quite a bit. I like the positive responses if the child chooses the right answer and the encouraging responses if the wrong answer was chosen in the game. However, the telephone receiver was constantly coming off the cord. My daughter, now three years old, hasn't played with the toy in about a year and a half. There is a model of this toy that offers the bilingual option to play games. Had I bought this model I would've been happier. Unfortunately, this toy doesn't adapt to the higher levels of development. It was OK, but I think I will put this one in the donation pile.
Absolutely and Positively DO NOT BUY this toy!!!
I bought this for my granddaughter (2 years old) on Jan 10, 2009 from Fry's and I have to return it the following day. This is one of the poorest quality toy we have purchased. The phone hook (green color) fell off immediately as the screw was not tightened and it has to be tightened from the inside which means taken the toy apart. The phone handle also fell off from the cord as it was held by a flimpsy plastic connector.
Poor Design + Poor Manufacture = Poor Quality Toy
Educational fun that lasted for us
I am writing because I bought this toy 3 yrs ago. My son played with it on and off and it took it's fair share of abuse, yet kept working great and is now at our yard sale looking for a new home. Well made! Fun for learning.
