Customer Reviews

Not too bad for a recycle figure5
If you bought the Emma Frost figure then you know what you're getting into. The Black queen it's basically a paint job that comes with a great head. Recycled figures don't really bug me but they should have scrapped off the X Logo on her waist. Overall it's a great figure, if only there'd be a Jean Grey figure in her 90's uniform!

Yes, there's education value in this figure.4
Why does it have educational value? Because people who get it who don't know who it's referring to may go back and read the entire Claremont-Byrne Phoenix saga, which was one of the watersheds of 20th century comic book storytelling. As for the figure... it looks great. I haven't actually taken it out of its packaging yet, but I just might!

The Real Jean Grey5
This is one those story-line specific figures, showing a character in a non-typical costume. Jean Grey as the Black Queen was the story that really kicked off the Dark Phoenix saga in the comics, something not seen in the films.
Let me get the negative out of the way: this is the same body sculpt as the Emma Frost figure, so it's a bit spindly and doesn't stand on it's own too well. The cape is also the same as the Emma Frost, with the change of a rose for the clasp.
That being said, the head sculpt is tremendous! The hair could maybe be a little less orange, but the face is fabulous, probably the best I've see on one of these figures. And the costume colors are terrific. The black and red is outstanding, where the Emma Frost blue-and-white was somewhat drab. Just a couple of changes, and the figure went from dull to displayable.
And they gave her a whip! If only it unfurled...
