Buy a calculator and save money
My kids like this item and to play store, but the gift will not last a week in durabilty. Very cheaply made especially the food containers and basket. The food containers are so thin that if you blow on them, they cave in or the lids come off. The conveyor belt was torn in one day. I am not expecting it too last long. Cord on mic might as well not be there. It is a big calculator. Definitely not worth the $40 amazon is asking.

bum deal
I gave this cash register five stars for educational value and for fun, but that is only because I see how much fun my children have playing with other similar toys.They did not have a chance to play with this model. As for the durability and overall rating I would give it NO stars if I could. This was suppose to be an item that Santa was going to leave under the tree. Item was purchased at the very end of October(10/23), trying to get a head start on Christmas shopping. Unfortunately we did not open the box until getting ready to put it under the tree on Christmas Eve (LAST NIGHT). I was horrified to find how chintzy the plastic is and that I could not even get the drawer to work. My husband told me to "Throw it away. He said that it would not be worth my efforts trying to make a return. He figured that it cost under $20. The conveyor belt was all nicked up and did not even roll.
Amazon's holiday return policy says that items may be returned as far back as Nov 1st. I am hoping someone will take pity and let me return this item. Two things I have learned from this purchase: 1) open item right away and make sure it is what you expect it to be 2) Never order an item that does not have any reviews written about it!!!!!!!

A good buy....watch the price...
I bought this for my toddler for Christmas. She loves it! My only gripe with it is that the conveyor belt is poorly made and tears easily, but as long as your child does not move the belt backwards and forwards all day then it should be fine. I can't belive the price Amazon are selling it for though...$40????? Seriously, I paid $10 in Toys r us.....not worth $40 so watch what you pay for it.
A good toy though.
