While much effort is put into concealing the appearance of a spy, with the obligatory trench coat, wide brimmed hat, and sunglasses, little attention is paid to disguising the actual sound of the spy's voice. After all, how undercover can you ever really be if it's easy to identify you the first time you talk? Thanks to this spy voice scrambler, however, an anonymous spy could vocally stay that way. Fitting neatly in the palm of your hand, it sports options for recording, playback, and a special "voice twister" meant to distort the sound. All three functions worked nicely in our informal test. Mediocre small voice changer toy.
I'm not sure who is rating this but my expectations were high for this toy based on all these raters giving this gadget 5 stars. I'm sorry to say that I don't think so. You cannot use it as a voice changer without having to record something each time. There are other voice changers that allow you to add voice effects as you speak. Not this one. That reduces the fun effect. The microphone doesn't capture the voice that well and the speakers are weak. I had to play it near someone's ear for them to hear it or tell all to stay silent. Reducing the fun even more. Some one here said that you can even clip it somewhere? No clips found. Nevertheless you can still get giggles (1st star) plus it includes batteries to play out of the box (2nd star).

Favorite of the kids
This is another fun toy from Wild Planet's popular Spy Gear line of toys, the "Spy Voice Scrambler" works pretty good for it's size. Very small and light. It has a clip on the back to clip it to your belt or backpack. For age 6 and up, this toy helps the little spy in your house disguise his voice. Can be used on the couch or just for goofing around with each other. Changes both the speed and tone of your voice. It changes your voice to a baby sound, robot, or high-pitched chipmunk. Can be used to record, play, and twist voices and sounds.

It is durable, we have had ours without problem for 1 year, and it has the original batteries. This device is also sold with a great belt and other spy gadgets in a kit called the "Micro Spy Kit", also at Amazon.

Fun, Creative Toy!!!
This toy is great! You can use it to make alot of creative sounds, it's cheap, small, and really fun. I liked this toy so much that I bought another one. Now, with the pair, I make lots of creative sounds like missile launching, explosions, duets, sword fighting, etc. I'm still playing with it right now while I'm dictating this to my dad!!! I really really recommend this.
