Customer Reviews
Chic and Maneuverable
We absolutely love this travel system! We were first attracted to it because it is not as huge and bulky (and ugly) as a lot of the Graco, Eddie Bauer, and Safety First travel systems out there. It is still large, but it looks a lot sleeker than others. (We also didn't want a crazy expensive space-age-looking travel system.) Overall we are very happy with this system and it is the one I would buy again. Here are the pros and cons of this system for us:
Pros:
-Looks great!
-Car seat is crash tested to 70 mph and also side-crash tested! Most other car seats in the US are only tested at 35 mph in frontal crashes.
-Car seat snaps so easily into stroller and base
-Car seat base can attach with LATCH or with seat belt
-You can use the car seat with or without the base (So if you have to use it in someone else's car you can just use the seatbelt.)
-Car seat has five point harness
-Car seat base has a level so you can see if it's in at the right angle
-Car seat is safe for children up to 30lbs! (Most only go to 22lbs)
-Stroller folds and unfolds with one hand (seriously! It took a little practice but the woman at the store gave us a quick lesson and we can really open and close it with one hand!)
-Stroller is so amazingly easy to steer
-Stroller can stand up on its own when folded up
-Stroller has adjustable handlebar height
-Stroller front wheels can lock in a forward position if you want
-Stroller tray insert is detachable and dishwasher safe
-Stroller has a covered compartment for parent stuff and a cup holder
-Stroller reclines all the way for infants
-Stroller foot-flap folds down for older children and up to keep infants inside (makes a bassinet-type area)
-Stroller "remembers" the back-height/recline setting when re-opened
-Stroller is designed so that we don't hit our feet on it when we walk (I am 5'9" and my husband is 6'.)
Cons:
-Car seat base is hard to secure in our Mazda 6 so that it moves an inch or less to either side
-Stroller wheel got a dent in it after 1 month and now makes a little noise and bump when we go over that part
-Stroller canopy is a little small
-Stroller basket is hard to access when the car seat is in the stroller (when the back of the stroller is all the way down)
-Stroller brakes are impossible to undo in flip flops and kind of hard to undo in normal shoes (I usually just end up bending down and unlocking it with my hand.)
That's all! Hope that helps!
Great car seat, stroller not so great
What's great about this travel system? It is so versatile. Just snap the car seat into the stroller or base and you are ready to go. The car seat is top quality compared to other car seats I've seen.
What's not so great about this travel system? The stroller is crap. The basket is impossible to access if the car seat is in it. We have to take the car seat out every time we need to put something in or take something out. Which is a HUGE hassle. Also, the wheels started squeaking within a week or so. Our sidewalks are old and cracked so it is not the smoothest ride. The stroller does great in malls but not outside. If you are even somewhat active this is not the stroller for you.
Good Choice
I have this system and agree with all of the pro/cons in the other review. I would add the I have leather upholstery in my car and the base for the car seat shifted at first, but I bought some grip liner (foamy meshy stuff used in drawers and cupboards to keep things from moving). I put this under the base between it and the car seat and it worked great. No more shifting when I turn a corner.
I too liked that it wasn't ugly. I'm sick of my choices for baby items being pink and brown, ugly green and brown or brown with the occasional blue in a dumb print. What ever happened to bright lovely colors?
