Good Quality, Educational and . . DULL.
We received this as a gift, and it is a beutifully crafted and very educational toy. Very safe even for young babies (no sharp edges or little parts). I tried to interest my early toddler in this, but he would only do it when I sat down and encouraged him. It was never one of the toys he picked up himself to play with.

I am in total agreement with other reviewers that there are too many toys these days that make lotts of noise, light up, move around etc. I also agree that a child should have manipulatives and toys that are simple to encourage their imagination. BUT, the toys should still be interesting!!! Unlike blocks, balls, tool sets, or cars, this puzzle is only made to do one thing with - Put the triangle in the triangle slot. Once you've done that, you are pretty much done with this puzzle.

Simple shapes are best to start with.
This is a really sturdy set of five basic shapes, with large handles for little hands to grasp. Perfect for the late baby, early toddler months. One of the best features is that it doesn't talk, sing, whistle or walk. It just sits there, enticing baby to develop her grasping, reasoning and motor control skills. Everything old is new again!

This is a VERY well made piece. The main board is thick and durable, the pieces are sturdy and most importantly...everything is smooth. My daughter still puts everything in her mouth, so I was very worried about wooden toys, but this one is great. She loves it!
