Created in the UK, over a two-year collaboration between former Bliss spa-entrepreneur Marcia Kilgore, Biomechanist Dr. David Cook and a team of untiring footwear engineers, FitFlops were initially designed to help modern women squeeze a little more exercise into their increasingly hectic schedules."I thought, how amazing if I could invent something that would help fight the onset of cellulite while I'm walking to the office," says Kilgore. "I work. I have kids. I have a husband. And the likelihood of me seeing the inside of a gym in the next ten years is slim to none. That said, I'd obviously prefer to go with slim." Kilgore found Dr. Cook at The Centre for Human Performance at London's LSBU, where he envisioned injecting the patent-pending 'microwobbleboard' technology into the midsole of the function-forward flip flop. Comfy, but avoid the rain
Great shoes, super comfy! Worth the price UNLESS you get them wet! I got the black Walkstars. It rained. My feet were a mess. I actually left black ink footprints on the concrete where I walked once the road dried. I still have black on my feet where the soap/nailpolish remover/loofah hasn't yet gotten the dye out. I will buy another pair, but it will be something light.

I'm not talking a little transfer like you'd expect from any leather shoe in the sopping wet, I'm talking dye pouring of the shoes and everywhere. At one point I took them off and held them...big mistake...ink on my hands, dripping off the shoes. Yikes.

Best Flip Flops Ever!
I was a little sceptical about getting these, but once I had them on and wore them for a few days, I didn't want to take them off! They are so comfortable and I think that they really do give your legs a little work-out, just from walking around in them.

FitFlop knows the dye runs and doesn't care.
As outlined in the email below I directed this exchange request directly to FitFlops as the product is damaged as direct result of poor manufacture. FitFlops admits to their shoddy product and the advice that I keep washing them is ridiculous since the dye is STILL running one month later. However, since they've declined to take responsibility for their product and referred me back to Amazon, here's their email (but I did like the way they fit). --- Thank you for your getting in touch. I am sorry to hear that the FitFlop dye has run on your feet. We have recognized that on some early production of black and red sandals that the edge staining on the upper was incorrectly specified as a water based ink. This error may lead to some colour transfer onto your feet and the footbed of the FitFlop sandal. After a few wears this will stop occurring, the water based stain will come off with a few washes Â- best to use a toothbrush and some laundry detergent on the footbed. We have also been made aware that certain suntan creams and moisturizers can cause the correctly specified oil based edge stain to transfer. These stains are harder to remove but do disappear after a week or so. There is little we can do but are testing the new collection against all popular brands of sun cream and foot lotion. Should this problem persist, please contact the retailer to find out their returns policy for an exchange as we don't directly sell our products.
