Eye catching
Although I can't vouch for all the claims about the health benefits of salt bowls (hence the 4 stars instead of 5), I CAN say that this bowl is very unique and eye catching (even moreso lit up) and I have received many compliments on it.

You can rearrange the salt chunks that are in the bowl however you want. As for the light, it's just a regular small clear night-light sized bulb on a cord (with on-off slider switch) that you stick underneath the bowl, and you can always get a different colored bulb if you desire. It doesn't make the salt chunks too hot, just warm. Do be careful moving the bowl around, if you bump it hard enough on something the bowl may crumble in that spot (only did that once so far). Treat it as if it were a glass bowl, and it will provide you with cozy unique ambience for a long time.

Nice decor
I haven't physically feel the effects of the salt lamp benefits. As far as decor, it's a conversation piece of decor. Really cool and romantic light in the dark. I have to buy a new light bulb when arrive. The packaging didn't really protect the bulb. No big deal. Cool lamp. I already own 3 lamps and great for gifts.
