First of all, this product is sold directly from JoAnns fabrics. Yet on amazon it is at least $100 cheaper then in the store. Strange isnt it? But I am so thrilled to have this. I no longer have to try to put on the garment I am making to see how it looks and make adjustments. I can dress this maniquin, try different looks, and pin or mark alterations so easily. This would also help one who is learning to sew to understand porportions when making a garment.

This is great for just tossing around ideas when one has the fabric but not yet decided on a style. The item comes with a very small bust. I have put a bra on it so that I can be sure the final garment is accurate to my body. It is easy to set up, move and adjust. Spoil yourself and get it.

Useful for the home/casual seamstress
I have this dressform and it's very useful for fitting the dresses I've made for myself and friends/family. However, do not expect a professional product here. Professional dress forms are almost all single sizes only and they are much more expensive. This is a good value product for the flexibility and convenience it offers the casual seamstress.

Pros:
- Adjusting the size is easy.
- It's generally been a good fit for myself and all the friends/family I've used it for.
- Very convenient to use a dress form instead of calling in friends for multiple fittings.

Cons:
- The "tape" measurement around the waist came off very easily.
- Somewhat flimsy plastic design. You have to be somewhat gentle with it, feels like it could break rather easily.
- Not easy to pin, especially when your seams are in the gaps exposed by the sizing. You can't stick the pins into the dressform either, there is only a thin foam lining between the cloth and the plastic backing.
- If you're taller than 5'11" or 6', the form doesn't extend tall enough. However, it's an easy fix with a box under it.

Not Worth the Money
I have struggled with this thing for over a year now! It is always falling down and the dials get stuck when trying to adjust the size! It is very difficult to pin due to the thin cover, which means lots of bent straight pins! However, it is good to use for hemming, if you can manage to keep it upright long enough to finish the job! It certainly is not worth the money paid! I have just stumbled upon a dress form which looks very user friendly. It is called the Uniquely You Dressform. Several places sell it online and it costs about the same as the Dritz My Double. The Uniquely You Dressform is made of a proprietary dense foam rubber. After fitting a cloth cover to yourself, you remove it and sew the sides. Then, you slide the cover onto the dense foam rubber body while pressing down on the rubber and it molds itself into your cover! You can stick pins deep into it, iron on it and steam on it! If your body size changes, you only need to adjust the seams on your cover to change the shape of the dressform! I intend to order this and try it out. I am hoping that it is as good as it sounds! Hopefully Amazon will begin selling this item soon, too! And, no... I have no affiliation with Uniquely Yours.
