Customer Reviews
WOW - Comfortable! Comparable to higher end models!
For the last year and a half I have been running 3 miles a day, four days a week. I never had shoes made specifically for running; I would usually run in basketball shoes because I didn't think there would be a big difference.
After buying these shoes, I learned there is a BIG difference!
Asics have always been known for making great running shoes. Compared to the higher end model (Nimbus), these shoes seemed to have all the important features a runner is looking for without the hefty price tag. I went to my local Footlocker to compare the two models. Unfortunately they did not carry the Cumulus in store, so I could only try on the Nimbus. Don't get me wrong, the Nimbus is an excellent shoe, but I couldn't justify spending almost double the price when this shoes has the same important main features (IGS and GEL). Plus, I think the white/black/red Cumulus is the most visually appealing running shoe I have seen.
Running is now definitely easier on my knees - I no longer have aches in them as I used to have. The cushioning in these shoes is great especially when running at fast speeds. These shoes also have great ventilation and I can sometimes even feel a cool breeze on my feet when running. No more sweaty socks sitting in my gym bag after a long run! Another plus is that these shoes don't collect little pebbles on the bottom of the soles as other running shoes may do.
Overall, I feel I got a great deal on these running shoes. They seem to be very comparable to higher-priced shoes. I definitely recommend them.
Wife loves these shoes!
We have tried many different brands but we keep going back to Asics Cumulus for the excellent cushioning and comfort. I don't buy any other brand or model any more. I have run two marathons and two sprint triathalons and have logged many training miles over the last 10 years; Asics shoes ROCK.
Above average
With a Japanese brand like Asics, you would have high expectations like I did when I made my purchase. However, they did not live up to my standards, especially how expensive they were. My previous Asics trail Gel Attack 3 were more comfortable than the Cumulus 10. In comparison with the Brooks Glycerin and Saucony Pro Grid Jazz, the Cumulus 10 place 3rd. I am still puzzled how they feel SO comfortable when walking but so rigid during running. Running roughly ~20 miles a week, my knees tell me the difference between the 3 pairs in comparison. In terms of weight, it's heaviest of the 3. The Brooks Glycerin is the most comfortable shoe for my type of feet. (Medium arch with neutral pronation). This will be the last time I wear Asics.
