Amazon.com Review
Functional as well as beautiful, the 13 pieces in this cookware set will bring joy to any serious cook. The set includes a 1-quart covered saucepan, a 1-1/2-quart covered saucepan, a 2-quart covered saucepan, and a big, 8-quart covered stockpot (6-1/2 inches high, 9-3/4 inches in diameter). Also included are 8-inch and 10-inch nonstick skillets. (The stockpot lid fits the larger skillet.) Finally, there are three mixing bowls--1-quart, 2-quart, and 3-quart--with snap-on plastic lids.
Except for the plastic lids, all pieces are made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish. The saucepans and stockpot have aluminum cores in their bases to spread heat quickly and evenly. The cores are completely clad in stainless steel for corrosion resistance and easy cleanup. Thick rolled rims add durability and make it possible to pour without dripping. Because the handles are safe to 350 degrees F (they stay cool on the stovetop), the pans, pot, and skillets can be used in the oven. The entire set comes with a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Not Like the Original
This company was bought out several years ago by a Far East company. The quality is not the same; the warranty is worthless; the 18/10 gauge steel is not truly 18/10 guage and the handles are made of cheap plastic. If one takes the time to look at the positive reviews, most of them are from people who have the original sets manufactured ten to twenty years ago. The company no longer exists, and its successor makes cheap knockoffs of the original. Do not waste your money
nonstick is disappointing
I purchased the non-stick set a few years ago. Within a year, the nonstick finish was wearing off. I worked a long time on getting this problem taken care of - seems Farberware was bought by another company a few years back, and no one wanted to take responsibility (a LIFETIME GUARANTEE) for my falling-apart cookware. Finally, they said they would resurface my pans. I sent them all ($25 in shipping!) in to a company in Pennsylvania.......who had them for SIX MONTHS!!!!! They wouldn't return calls, they totally disregarded my plea's for information about my cookware, they didn't care. I had to buy a couple of peices of inexpensive cookware, just so I could put meals on the table. I thought it would possibly take 3 to 4 weeks, but they kept me hanging the whole time. Finally, after I waited for those 6 months, my cookware arrived, without my large frying pan. Of course, 3 weeks of phone calls back to them, got me no where. I still don't have my pan. That was 2 years ago, and the nonstick surface of the resurfaced pans are wearing off again.
My advice would be to never buy nonstick surfaces from Farberware. Actually, I would never buy ANY Farberware. They may be "classic" but they don't stand behind their products.
All-Clad.....all the way!!
Great, Versatile Set Of Farberware!
I needed to buy a set of cookware for the cabin I am building in the northern part of New Hampshire, and after looking around a bit for something that would be both serviceable and durable, I decided on this set. It has the added features of being attractive enough to hang out in view and is quite inexpensive. So imagine my surprise when I found out what fun this set is to cook with!
That said, I should mention that this set is quite functional as well as beaing attractive. There are 13 pieces in this cookware set, enough to meet the needs of any serious cook. The set ranges from a series of sauce pans to a stockpot to two non-stick skillets. Of course, it also has three mixing bowls, all with snap-on plastic lids.
All the pieces are made of heavy stainless polished steel. The saucepans and stockpot have aluminum cores in order to spread heat evenly. Moreover, the entire set comes with a lifetime warranty. Ours see continuous use, and we have been surprised at just how well this inexpensive set serves our varied cooking needs. Enjoy!
