|
The B13F's integrated Class III-A laser-beam adjusts along the X-Y axis for pinpoint accuracy when drilling. Easy laser adjustment knobs allow for easy calibration of the drill press.
Additionally, the B13F lets you lock in depths for precise drilling. The depth-scale ring, located at the base of the feed handle, means you can make quick and easy depth adjustments without the need for special tools.
Powerful Induction Motor with Five Speed Settings
The B13F features a 1/3-horsepower induction motor that is powerful enough to drill a wide variety of materials, including wood, aluminum, plastic, mild steel, stainless steel and more. And with five speed settings--680, 1,160, 1,780, 2,380, and 3,000 RPM--you can choose the speed that's best for your material and bit size (the chuck accepts drill bits from 1/16- to 1/2-inch).
Smart Design That's Built to Last
Everything, from the induction motor to the 7-13/16-inch-square cast-iron table, is built for reliable performance. The cleverly designed table moves along a smooth rack-and-pinion gearing system and locks in place for reliable support during operation. An added bonus, the table adjusts 45 degrees to the right or left for angled drilling.
At 67.8 pounds, the B13F is lightweight enough for easy storage and portability. It is backed by Hitachi's two-year warranty.

From the Manufacturer
Hitachi Power Tools introduces the all new B13F 10-inch Benchtop Drill Press, 5 speeds, with Laser Sighting for more accurate drilling. Swing on the drill press is 10-inches, 5-inches from center of drill chuck to column. Spindle travel is 2.5-inches and drilling capacity is 1/2-inch in cast iron. The speed range is 680 to 3000 rpm. Five speeds are easily changed while unit is turned off with V-belt and step pulleys. The Laser Sighting is mounted to the cast iron drill press head and provides a crosshair pattern to quickly and accurately target the drill location on the workpiece. The drill press column is steel, 2.25-inch diameter. The 7.75- x 7.75-inch cast iron work table uses a rack and pinion mechanism for ease of moving the table up and down. The table tilts left and right up to 45 degrees, it has a center drill-through hole and parallel mounting through-slots that are 9/16-inch wide x 5-inches long. The table can also be swung out of the way to use the machined cast iron base with slots as a work surface. Distance from spindle to table is 10.75-inches (maximum) and distance spindle to base is 15.75 in. The base includes holes for mounting the drill press to a bench or stand. The spindle taper is JT33 and a drill chuck is included - chuck size 1.5mm to 13mm (1/16 to 1/2 in), with self-ejecting chuck key. Motor is a 1/3 -horsepower 3.5 amp continuous duty induction-type. Overall dimensions (inches): 11.3 width x 19.3 depth x 27.5 height.
Customer Reviews
ok, but wuth issues
the table does not line up with the base, which does not affect the machine workings but does throw the user's eye off. i have yet to find the stops for drilling consistent hole depth. the laser is totally useless and flimsy. the belt adjustment is not easy. there is a grinding noise coming from the spindle. i would say this item is not worth the price asked, but i got mine on the initial offer which had 100 off, maing the price 50...and that is about what it is worth.
i have since writing the above had more time with the machine and like it even less. the motor is not at all powerful; when drilling thru 1/4" steel the press easily gets overloaded and stalls out. this makes for tedious and long drilling times; having to go slow and all to keep the thing from stalling out under this modest load.
Its just ok
I recently purchased this same tool at Lowes for $139.00. I usually buy from Amazon due to their excellent pricing but I needed the press quickly. Its ok. It lacks power and bogged down and stalled when drilling 1/4" teak with a 4" hole saw. I used it for production drilling of rub rails for my boat and it worked fine for that. It pretty much meets my needs but could be a bit more robust.
It's okay.....just okay
I purchased this for our business (light and occasional use in wood). It would not come on after assembly, then I noticed the motor housing was crushed on the bottom pinning the fan. I took off the cover and the cheap plastic fan was in pieces. Called and they would not send me replacement parts but said I had to return the entire unit. Not worth the trouble so I have used it without the fan. The lasers are too bright and makes it harder to see what you are drilling. The table will not stay tight and swings to the sides easily making aligment for precision work difficult. This is a $99 drill press and worth $99.....but no more.
