Customer Reviews

It takes getting used to, but it definitely works!4
I'm getting older and while I'm not overweight, I have gained a bit of weight and my measurements have "spread" a bit. I bought this item because I'd heard and read that waist compression would have the effects I was looking for and I wanted to see if it would work for me.

I just received the cincher yesterday. I wore it for a couple hours yesterday and have been wearing it about 4 hours so far today. The package instructions say that 8-10 hour per day use is the goal.

I have to say this: this thing WILL compress your waist! I bought the petite size because my measurements and weight fall into the petite category on the size chart. When I put the cincher on, my waist measures 23 inches, and that' s on the outer row of loops!! I actually have to wear shirts a bit loose so my waist doesn't look freakishly small. The cincher also looks relatively smooth under clothes as well as the garment compresses your entire ribcage below the breasts.

As far as comfort, it's probably too soon to tell. But rumors of instant comfort may be greatly exaggerated. As a new user (especially one that's short waisted) I'd say it ranges from slightly uncomfortable to "get this thing off me" after several hours depending on what I'm doing. I've noticed a few specific challenges right off:

1) It takes some muscle to get the waist cincher hooked. Instructions say to start at the top and work your way down, which I did. All I can say is, if you don't have the upper body strength to open a big jar of pickles, you're probably going to have a tough time getting this thing on at first.

2) The diminished internal organ function is noticeable and at some times, rather disconcerting. You definitely don't feel hungry while wearing this thing. That's not necessarily bad. But it also prevents you from breathing freely and deeply, especially when you're sitting. (I find that standing up and taking short walks cures this sensation.) That's a bit hard to get used to. One might also notice increased visits to the bathroom. The enforced posture also makes me feel a bit of back discomfort since I'm used to slouching my way through my day, but hopefully that will improve as I get used to the cincher.

3) It does pinch and rub a bit, especially in a sitting position. In fact, I would say that sitting is the most comfort-challenging activity. Since the cincher makes you keep your back straight, there aren't that many ways to sit comfortably. There's no lounging on the couch in front of the TV with the Squeem on.

4) It's a warm garment. You may feel anything from "warm and cozy" to "hot and sweaty" depending on your daily environment. Since this garment is made of rubber, I'm keeping an eye on my skin condition to make sure that I don't develop any skin reactions.

All in all, I think that for the price, the Squeem cincher REALLY delivers as far as instant waist and size reduction. You really do lose a size and at least 2 inches on your upper body to your hips. If someone out there is looking for the miracle undergarment that will let them get into that special occasion shirt or dress or look several pounds thinner for a particular event, this is probably it.

I hope that the longer term benefits listed on the package (drop a few pounds, reduce your waist) come true for me, but that remains to be seen depending on how much I can adapt to the sensations of wearing my Squeem for the long term.

Awesome - does exactly what it says!5
I started out with a Medium sized Squeem Vest about a week before I used this small sized waist cincher - you can see the product here: Squeem Magical Lingerie Shapewear, Firm Compression, Cotton & Rubber, Vest, Black, Medium

I love the cincher since I can use it with a sleeveless top and don't have to worry about the straps or strap irritation. There is truth to the claim that it reshapes your waist - I never had curves and I'm just beginning to have a womanly shape to my waist. The only thing I don't like is that the cincher can sometimes squeeze the fat up to the top of the cincher and then you have a mini roll there - not always an issue, just sometimes I noticed it. The vest goes up all the way, so you don't have that problem.

Either way, I highly recommend this product and have become a firm believer in what Squeem can do. :)

EDIT: Amazon won't let me review the squeem vest I bought since this cincher and the vest are considered part of the same series. So, I'll include it here since I think there are some differences.

"I'm 5'9, 135 lbs and shaped like a boy - I've never had sultry curves and I am kind of roly-poly around the belly. So, I bought this hoping I could feel more comfortable in my clothing. I was skeptical of the claims to reduce inches and the whole sweating-your-way-to-thinness thing, but my goal wasn't necessarily permanent waist reduction.

Well, it's been about a week and a half since I've been using this, and honestly, it's no gimmick. I've used Spanx and Flexees, but this is different. It's sturdier, doesn't roll up and it definitely flattens the tummy and does not fold over on itself. I have a womanly shape when I wear it - it's amazing. The first day, I could barely get the medium to close on the first latches. It was very tight, but not uncomfortable. After a few hours, I forgot I was wearing it so I decided to try and see if I could squeeze it down a notch - voila! It fit on the second set of hooks! What was even more surprising was going home and taking it off and seeing that my body stayed in this curvy shape for about 1/2 an hour. This was all a very impressive first day - so I decided to stick to it.

I wear it every day for about 8 hours. I do sweat a lot when I wear it and I don't like it touching my skin directly because it gets clammy - so I wear very thin tank tops as an undershirt and it still works - super sweaty without the clammy. In the past week, it has become even more comfortable to wear and in only a week, my waist retains the shape for an hour now (I can't wait until after I've worn it for a few months!) I also now have no problem fastening it on the second row of hooks (the tightest) and staying comfortable. I was so inspired that I ordered the waist cincher in a small to gradually get my waist down to that size (product and my review here: Squeem Magical Lingerie Shapewear, Firm Compression, Cotton & Rubber, Waist Cincher, Nude, Small they both have different advantages and disadvantages.)

I like the vest because the back is high, so I don't have to worry about back fat popping up or out. The vest also works wonders for your chest. I have an average B-C cup that normally doesn't look like much. Once this vest is on, they perk right up. The vest is pretty long so I've never had to deal with fat popping out the bottom. You do have to wear it as an undergarment or corset (tucked into your pants/skirt) otherwise you'll have the lines of your pants or bottoms pressed into your skin and that kind of hurts. Also, the straps are very thick, making it difficult to wear with some sleeveless tops. At first I wore the straps pretty tight for maximum chest perkiness but they began to rub my skin raw so I loosened them up and they are no longer an issue. Also, if you wear super tight shirts, you can see the clasps at the front - I've worn some tight shirts though and no one but me has noticed.

I highly recommend this and have already told my best friend and my mom to order since I truly feel it's worth the investment. "

For an amazing waistline under everything4
I can see why this cincher has so many fans! Like any cincher, it takes a little getting used to. I wore it two or three times for a couple hours each, a couple times for an evening out, and now I can wear it all day if I choose to. It also takes a while for my body to "settle in" to it; the first thirty minutes or so I do a fair amount of adjusting to get things to lay just right.

Cons:
-There isn't any boning immediately adjacent to the hooks and eyes that make up the front opening, so they pull and buckle slightly. I can't wear this under anything too tight or clingy, as the row of bumps down the front makes it obvious I've got some sort of girdle underneath.
-The boning doesn't extend the entire length of the channels, so the fabric tends to wrinkle and bunch around the waist. You could fix this yourself with longer boning or bar tacks to shorten the channels, but it's not really a problem if you aren't wearing it under something clingy or really tight.
-The rubberized knit sometimes irritates my skin (I assume due to the lack of ventilation). This can't really be avoided. Powdering your skin before putting this on may help.

Pluses:
+Amazingly sturdy for the price. Even with regular wear, it seems to be holding up wonderfully, and the price is no more than what I would pay for a nice bra.
+The two rows of eyes down the front means that you can choose your constriction, and it will probably extend the life of the garment for me. I've been wearing this on the outer eyes, so when the fabric begins to lose its stretch, I'll still be able to wear it on the inner eyes while waiting for my new one to arrive.
+Once I adjusted to it and it adjusted to me, it has been very comfortable (provided I sit upright).
+It really doesn't let you slouch, which means that your figure looks that much better.
