Customer Reviews
Great little light for the price.
I just received this yesterday and my 9 year old son really likes it. It is very small, lightweight, and can be clipped to a book or laptop computer or even placed standing-up on a nightstand. There are 2 clips on the unit: The one in the picture slips over a book. There is another one on the back that is spring-loaded and can be pulled out to put the light on a laptop computer.
The telescoping arms don't extend very far (maybe 6-8"), but it is fine for the intended purpose. One great feature is the rotating head. It can rotate 360 degrees so that you can aim the light exactly where it is needed. The beam is wide enough to easily light up a full-size book, even when attached directly to it. The light also has a 3-way on/off switch that cycles between full-on, a bit dimmer, and off. This is nice if the full-on is too bright for you. I think this light is a great bargain at Amazon's price.
Pick Something Else
Unit is bulky and flimsy, two antenna's are not strong at all and do not keep light straight. Only makes sense to buy as a reading light if every book you read is hardcover.
Works well with the Kindle
I have used this for several months and really like it. I have a K1 and this light clips on the cover that came with it and gives a bright even light across the entire K1's screen. I tend to use it plugged in while at home or in a av port on long train trips. This light is rechargeable and the brightness last for quite a long time when used unplugged.
The one down side is the ease with which you can accidentally turn on the light since the on/off button in on the top of the unit's light bar. That caused to battery to quickly discharge since the light was on during the time my Kindle was stored in its case. Not cool since I had to recharge this light before it could be used again. (Luckily I have a back up book light so was able to enjoy the book I was reading)
That problem is easily remedied by completely rotating the light bar so that the button faces in against the battery unit when stored in side of the case I keep my Kindle in.
