(Obsolete but I love it too much to remove) The Charge Ti was the TTI before the serrated knife had a hook. The clip blade was made with a slightly different type of high carbon stainless. This was the original enhancement to the Wave's excellent paradigm that set the high watermark in multitools.

The SwissTool RS has it all - multiple knives, scissors etc... - all tools just like a Swiss Army Knife - but locking. Great pliers - great unit. Vies with the Wave for best overall tool balance money/price/design.

Victorinox's awesome new contender. Great fit and finish - all tools just like a swiss army knife. The only fly in the ointment is the blade is a serrated "razor" shape that lacks a point. It has a awl - useful for belts and also places you need a knife point. Curved handle means no rulers - but makes the pliers grip more comfortable than most. Bits are a separate unit. Ultra-light: 5.75oz.

This is the Skeletool made out of stainless with a blade made from 420HC stainless. All that functionality and $20 cheaper than the CX model. Still - it's missing the saw, file, and scissors.

A specialty item - SOG used to the best, but design is now dated (though still very good). This implementation includes 66 and 110 punchdown tools for data and telco types, like myself.

Leatherman's play for the mid-price market. The top of Leatherman's mid-range trio: "Kick", "Fuse", and "Blast". All same chassis - but more tools as you work your way up. Design is a bit dated and has some ergonomic issues - but very functional and well made at good price. Edged by SwissTools.

This is the bit kit for Leathermen. The additional bits flesh out that functionality. Cherry pick the best ones for you because you can only carry one tray at a time.

Cheap, no scissors or bits. Old style with tools that open out from the middle, meaning your hand bears down on the edges when using pliers. They lined the edges with plastic to help.

Like the Kick, but has scissors and a bit kit that uses the phillips head screwdriver as a bit holder. Plastic liner because your hand bears down on the edges.

If you need a tiny multi-tool to go on a keychain or backpacking trip - this one is it (scissors model).

Gerber makes an really tiny multi-tool too - Clutch. Pliers might be less robust and has a bit less refinement than squirt at 1/3 the price. Amazing value and TINY.

Gerber's Suspension is small and stubby and lacks a bit of refinement, but has spring loaded pliers and offers a ton of functionality for the money. More refined than the Schrade - the only competition at this LOW price point for a full sized tool.

Leatherman's Micra has a scissors instead of a pliers, but is TINY and has a ton of functionality packed into a low price and small size. Squirt is cooler and more refined, however.

Like the "Suspension" - stubby, small, and cheap (but less of all 3). Nice spring loaded pliers. Tools are all short. Lots of function for the dollar. Stubby proportions ruin it for me.

Another new model from Gerber that gives a lot for the money. How is this different than the "Method" - different bolster designs? Whatever; stubby tools but pretty solid value. I don't like the proportions.
