Customer Reviews
a wonderful mate
After years spending my money on powerful, and yet, heavy laptops, I figured out that I don't really need a Dual 2 core 2.3 Ghz, 4Ghz ram. I just need something really portable and lightweight (I'm 5feet, not a strong woman though)
This minibook gorgeous at the look, and pretty good at performance with a high capacity hard drive. It can handle very well daily tasks such as surfing the internet, Office tasks and somewhat good on multitasks if you don't try to abuse it too much. I leave all heavy tasks for my desktop or my other company laptop. And this a real first "laptop" of mine, since all others are too heavy, or too hot to put them on me. This one is quite cool compare to Vaio 13"
I bought a 1Gb memmory to upgrade it later, since I'm still very undecided about upgrading it. I don't want to void my warranty that soon.
The only thing I don't like it is - The Fn key is at the Ctrl key, and the Ctrl moved inside.
All in all, I highly recommend this minibook.
This is a follow up after 1 year using this little love - October 31, 2009;
- Still great as ever.
- I have had a chance to try Aver Aspire one, and that one keeps freezing itself when I tried to do multi tasks, which are performed well on my computer. The only advantage Acer has is the XP Pro. MSI U100 has XP home.
- I'm using MS Office 2007, and it runs just perfectly too.

What I was looking for.
This MSI is just what I was looking for...Price, small, lightweight, well built, stays cool, Windows XP. 120 GB HDD, 10" screen.
Starts up quick, recognized my wi-fi at home and work with no problems.
The screen is bright enough to use outdoors, too. The 3-cell battery is the only drawback...It only works about 2 1/2 hrs for me. That's OK, it came with a nice long a/c cord, an outlet is never far away.
I had an extra 1GB RAM (Maximum, 2GB) and added to it.
Get an extra 3-cell battery or order with the 6-cell.
Wow!!!!!
I bought this online from another vendor and paid a total $250 for it after two rebates.
THis computer kicks butt. I commute to work on the commuter rail and they have just added wifi service and this computer is amazing. I am getting caught up on email and taking notes about my workday and am feeling very productive.
It weighs less than three lbs. I would recommend the 6 cell battery over the 3 cell for more work time.
But all in all this computer rocks!!
