Super Mario 64 is a very close second to Galaxy The gameplay is just as good. The graphics and sound are great for Mario's first attempt at 3D. The level design is amazing, you can explore the large open levels. There are lots of great power-ups. Replay value is great, too. This is the one and only game of the decade for the 90's!

I previously thought the best Mario RPG was Paper Mario 2, now I see it's Bowser's inside story.

An underrated game, Mario Sunshine is one of the most fun and unique Mario games there is. The FLUDD thing is annoying, but it's the thing that makes the game unique. The level design is different, also making it unique. Mario 64 and Galaxy were better, but Sunshine is more than 95% as good one of them.

Paper Mario is great because it has good battles, too, like the rest of Mario's RPG's. The boss battles are great, especially later in the game.

Although not as good as it's sequel, this is easily the second best game on the GBA. There's a big overworld to travel, lots of extra stuff to do, and fun boss battles as well (especially because of the Bros. Moves).

Yoshi's island is different from the original Mario World, but the new style of gameplay is incredibly fun. Throwing eggs at enemies is funner than stomping them. Power-ups have a different purpose; to get Yoshi through harsh terrain.

Mario Kart: Double Dash has better controls than any other Mario Kart. The tracks aren't as good though, but the 2 characters on one Kart idea is fun. Each character has their own special item. This game also has great replay value.

This is Mario's second best sports game, and one of his best spin-offs on the Gamecube. The huge selection of varied characters is great, and there are multiple stadiums to play on. It's really fun when there are two players though.

It's nice that there's a modern Mario 2D platformer, and it's nice that that platformer could be New Super Mario Bros.. The level design is great, there are new and old power-ups. Although the game can be beaten easily, you'll probably want to replay it.

This is probably the best Mario golf game there is. The gameplay is realistic and has Mario elements. The graphics are great too.

Mario Kart Wii is one of the best Mario Karts. The Wii Wheel works wonderfully. There are 16 new tracks and 16 old. Playing in multiplayer is even more fun.

This game is almost as good as Mario Power Tennis. There's a good selection of characters, a tournament mode, and more.

I know that many people would consider that far too low. The reason it's so low is because it doesn't have that nostalgic feeling that Mario World, Galaxy, 64, Sunshine, Yoshi's Island, and many other games have. Plus I feel that the level design is totally inferior to World's. I also felt it was incredibly easy, beat in 6 six days. I'm also sick of it appearing 95% of top 10 Mario games lists.

I never really thought Sonic was worthy of Mario, but they're both cool characters and it's nice to see them in the same game.

I don't care for most Mario Parties, but Mario Party 4 is an alright game.
