Discreet In-Wall Protection for Your Home Theater Investment

When it's not practical to run an AC line from your home theater rack to a remote display location, the MIW-POWER-PRO-PFP can utilize any branch circuit to deliver safe power to the remote display in a safety-agency-approved, code-compliant manner.

The 15 Amp MIW-POWER-PRO-PFP offers 2 AC outlets with Level 1 EMI/RFI noise filtration for clear, detailed images and crisp sound, while Thermal Fusing, Overvoltage Protection, and Catastrophic Surge circuitry protect sensitive home theater components from damaging power surges and voltage transients. Two recessed AC receptacles deliver power to remotely located devices. The enlarged faceplate (4.5" x 4.5") accommodates oversized wall cutouts.

A power on LED indicates power is being supplied to the MIW-POWER-PRO-PFP outlets. A line fault LED indicates an overvoltage condition with the power to the MIW-POWER-PRO-PFP. Voltage monitoring circuit protects equipment against prolonged over-voltages by disconnecting the power and reconnecting it when safe power returns.

This wall-plate may be used in conjunction with MIW-DUAL-SIGNAL-BAY-PFP and signal line modules (sold separately) for whole-house expandability.

Setup in Five Easy Steps

If you have any experience with basic home wiring installs, installing the POWER-PRO is a simple process. (Note: Only for use with 15 Amp circuits utilizing a minimum of 14 AWG. Make sure the circuit is not live before installation. If you are unsure how to perform this task, please contact an electrician.)

Find out more about the MIW-POWER-PRO-PFP
  • STEP 1: Select a location close to the equipment. In the case of a flat panel display, the recommended location is one that is behind the device and hidden from view once the Plasma TV is mounted. Cut a 4" wide by 3 3/4" high hole in the wall for the outlet box.
  • STEP 2: Run the building wire (e.g. Romex) through a rear opening in the outlet box (not included). No more than 1" of wire sheath should extend into the outlet box. 3" of wire should be able to extend beyond the opening of the outlet box. Install the outlet box in the hole.
  • STEP 3: Strip building wire. Using the included wire nuts, first connect the ground wires - green insulated on the MlW-Power-Pro-PFP and bare copper on the building wire. Then connect the neutral wires (white), then the hot wires (black).
  • STEP 4: Neatly fold the AC wires as you install the MIW-Power-Pro-PFP in the outlet box and secure with the included screws.
  • STEP 5: Turn the power on to the circuit. The blue Power indicator should light up, indicating the outlet is ready for use.

Perfect Solution for Wall Mounted HDTV's5
This is the perfect solution for wall-mounted HDTV's, offering superior surge protection as well as two recessed plugs for additional room behind your new set. The new LCD and Plasma TV's are very sensitive to voltage surges; however, if you're mounting the tv on the wall, space is at a premium and the last thing needed is another device between the set and the wall. As a result, many people decide not to try to fit a surge protection device behind the set. You're asking for trouble if you do this. I highly recommend this device as your solution.
Compare the specification on this device with most protectors in your local store: you'll find it has superior technical specs, with the added, and welcome bonus, of eliminating wires, and offering the recessed plugs, for even more room to plug in the TV and another device (like a DVD player). It has indicator lights to confirm the voltage to your set is normal and another light to tell you if you have a problem.
Installation is not difficult, even for a novice. Just make sure you turn off your breaker switch to your outlet before you start! Follow the directions in the package, and you're ready to go. It's more expensive than some other in-wall solutions, but the added features are worth the price. Highly recommended.

Easy to install, Looks and works great.5
The package comes with everything you need to install this in a double-outlet box. The recessed outlets are a great feature. This works great behind a flat screen TV. Do not try to install in a shallow box.

    Panamax Powere Management Surge Suppressor5
This power surge suppressor was installed behind my flat panel TV and works perfectly so far. Havn't had an electric surge yet, so I can't tell if it stops a surge, but I would hope it does if it happens.
