Combining activated carbon, this one-stage replacement microfilter for the easy-to-use Pur water pitcher reduces chlorine, sediment, bad taste, and odor from water, and includes an ion-exchange resin that helps eliminate lead and copper. In addition, the filter reduces pesticides (lindane, atrazine, and 2,4-D) and chemicals that are linked to increased cancer risk (benzene, TTHMs, and toxaphene). While Pur filters rid water of many chemicals, coloration, and bad flavors, they do not soften water or remove fluoride. The filter measures approximately 2-1/4 by 2-1/4 by 4-1/2 inches and should be changed every 40 gallons (approximately one to two months) for best results.

For chlorinated water only1
If you have only this as a filter, you had better use it for chlorinated water. No real function otherwise. The charcoal leaks from the filter. Use a 2 satge filter instead. I am returning the others.
