Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Product Description
A favorite of pilots and drivers alike, Serengeti's stylish Velocity sunglasses are perfectly suited to any travel medium, from the road to the air to the water. The Velocity glasses feature your choice of four frame colors (gunmetal, shiny gold, espresso, and shiny silver) and three glass types (drivers' gradient, 555nm, and drivers' polarized), depending on your situation. The drivers' gradient lenses are built for anyone requires eye protection in addition to a crystal-clear view, such as pilots. The 555nm lenses, meanwhile, maximize green and yellow to produce greater contrast and clarity, making them ideal for bright light conditions. And drivers' polarized lenses perform exceptionally well under cloudy and harsh light conditions, with a design that filters the glare to protect your eyes. All the lenses are made from the finest material in the world--with advanced molecular technology that's engineered into the glass itself--helping them last a lifetime with proper care.

Serengeti Molecular Technologies
Some of the most fascinating technology in the car isn't a part of the car at all. For example, every pair of Serengeti sunglasses is equipped with photochromic technology, which helps the sunglass lenses change as quickly as the scenery. With photochromic lenses, the molecules inside the lenses adjust to the changing light conditions, causing them to lighten and darken automatically. The keeps your eyes from straining or growing tired, as the lenses do most of the work for you. Plus, the photochromic technology is inherent in the glass, so it never wears off or wears out. The lenses also offer Spectral Control technology, which provides unparalleled hi-def contrast and superior color enhancement by filtering specific colors from the visible light spectrum. This, in turn, results in crisper color and clearer images. In addition, Spectral Control lenses block the distracting blue light that causes blurring, minimizing eyestrain and eye fatigue. Finally, many of Serengeti's glasses include polarized lenses with glare reduction technology. Light tends to bounce and reflect off a myriad of surfaces, such as water, snow, or the road. Serengeti polarizing technology, however, removes the glare--and the stress it causes on your eyes. Serengeti's eye protection goes well beyond government and commercial standards, helping your eyes stay sharp and stay safe.

Fantastic sunglasses!5
It has been too long since I had a good quality pair of sunglasses. After buying this pair I remembered how much better I could see with well made, glass lenses. I have owned Serengetis in the past, and these are better than my last pair. They are a bit larger in diameter and look more fashionable as a result. The frames are well made with good hinges and springs to the temples that allow them to flex to fit your face. The are a bit heavier on the face than a pair of polycarbonate lenses, but you can tell the difference immediately. Colors are brighter and clearer. I also like the gradient feature while driving. Inside the car is clear and less shaded when looking down while they are darker at the middle and top of the lenses to protect even more from the bright sunlight.

Serengeti sunglass review5
I am very impressed with the performance of the Serengeti Velocity Drivers. I have worn nothing else for the last 10 years and have found no reason to switch.

What price quality?5
It's been a few years since I've owned a really good pair of sunglasses. After losing a pair of Carerra's in Miami around 2003, I've made do with some off-the-rack sunglasses from the local drugstores.

Until I tried on these Serengetis, I had forgotten what quality sunglasses are all about.

Not only are they comfortable to wear, but they do not distort ones vision which leads to eyestrain and headaches.

Sure, they aren't cheap, but what's the price of quality?
