Three years have passed since the Daein-Crimea war, where the mercenary Ike led the Crimean army todefeat Daein's mad King Ashnard. Both Daein and Crimea are still stabilizing after that war. Daein is ruled by the Begnion occupation forces, after Crimea relinquished rule over their defeated country, and they are oppressed by the imperial soldiers. In the first of the game's four parts, a group of chivalrous thieves, which includes fortune-teller Micaiah, fight Begnion's oppression and attempt to liberate Daein and bring back power to the royal family. The efforts of the Dawn Brigade are the beginning of a much larger conflict. In the next part, Crimea's Queen Elincia fights against conspiring nobles, who plot to overthrow her. The following part sees the Greil mercenaries assist the united Laguz army as they go to war with the Begnion Empire. The consequences of this war can be seen in the fourth and final part, where the Dawn Brigade and the Greil mercenaries join forces to defeat the Begnion senate and the threatening goddess of chaos high above at the Guiding Tower. You guys don't get it do you!?!?!?!?!
You guys that are rating this thing low just don't get it do you?!?!?!
Fire Emblem is SUPPOSED to be complicated, that is what makes it that much better and more fun to play!!!!!!
I can't believe that you idiots would rate a great game like this one so low.......
I'd like to see how far you guys would get in FE5
hehehe......
9.5 Presentation I loved the way this game was presented Just awesome
9.5 Graphics For the Wii, it had some VERY decent graphics
9.5 Sound Good sound quality on this game as well
10.0 Gameplay Some of the best RTS gameplay I've ever had
10.0 Lasting Appeal Loved the game even after I played it.... it had a lasting effect.
10.0 OVERALL (out of 10 / not an average)
Amazing game for the hardcore strategist.
This game has an incredibly steep learning curve -- if you're not good, it punishes you, and you will cry -- but it is fun and has a good storyline once you get better. This is easily one of the best linear strategy games out there.
First Time Out With Fire Emblem
Let me preface this review with the fact that I've never played another Fire Emblem game before this.
Now that that is out of the way....
Starting the game off seemed to be very difficult! You start off with a few characters who are very weak and tend to die very quickly if you're not using some sort of strategy. If you've never played the series before, you start to realize that your characters can't come back from the dead! This threw me off until I realized what was happening! So be prepared to save and save often if you want to keep all your characters alive and kicking.
The gameplay was very reminiscent of Final Fantasy Tactics and for that I enjoyed the game. You move your characters about on a plot of land and can only move so many squares per turn. The type of character and terrain determines the amount of spaces that you can move.
As you progress through the game you can level your characters up. Once characters get to a certain level they then graduate to a new class ranking. This can give them new skills, a horse to ride on, etc... Very fun aspect of them game.
The story line was very interesting to me. As the story goes on, it takes twists and turns you may or may not expect.
If you're looking for a fun strategy game, this just may be your cup of tea. I know it was mine!
