Great Boxed Set of Music....but
Love the cd's for the most part. As with any multiple CD set, some of the compilations are much stronger than others.

My only complaint on the packaging itself is the fact that the cd's are not in a protective cover, and the felt, the set is packaged in, gets all over the cd's and has to be carefully cleaned before putting in your computer/cd player.

The Music is Great but Collection Box Isn't
The music is excellent-I highly rate all the discs in this set. However, the Collector's Box is not functional. The box is set up in a vertical tower formation, with individual drawers to hold each cd. But when you pull the drawer out, the cd does not stay in the slot and gets stuck in the box, increasing the odds of scratching. Also, the box is made of red felt that sheds, getting red dust all over the discs. I returned the set and bought the discs individually. If you want it just for display, I guess it would be ok but not if you actually intend to use them often.

Stunning collection!
I managed to secure a of copy of this collectors box from New Zealand's Pschent distributor for (wait for it) $NZ399.00! Upon hearing the price I had some reservations about ordering it. When I finally received it all apprehension was gone. This set is huge, and totally luxurious. Even my wife thinks the packaging is stunning. As for the content, all you are getting over and above the limited numbered edition box is the 10 previously released Hotel Costes volumes albeit with each disc coated in gold, and an impressive and extensive collectors booklet, with disc art, and liner notes in both French and English. The music speaks for itself, and has rightfully become stuff of legend, hence being able to do a set like this in the first place. The centerpiece of any good music collection, and an item that will bring enjoyment for years to come. Highly recommended.

Edit: Other reviewers are correct about the box leaving red lint over the discs. I use a lint cloth to clean before hand. The reason the box is designed like it is is because Hotel Costes' own designer was commissioned to design a box that made a statement not only about the music, but also the Hotel itself. I certainly don't agree that the package is rubbish. Impracticle...yes, but beautiful all the same. Don't buy if you have a problem with cleaning your CD's first.
