WATCH OUT FOR THE FAKES! DUMB & DUMBER ON THE LOOSE1
Well, I've seen some dumb things before, but when Amazon allows an afiliate vendor to sell counterfeit ExtremeIV 8GB cards, now that is dumb. Especially, since the vendor was brand new to them (obviously not vetted). I bought the card from these guys just to see if it was going to be fake or not. And sure enough as soon as I got it I called SanDisk and what do you know, counterfeit as a 3 dollar bill. About the only thing that could be dumber is for SanDisk not to find a solution for this problem and lose many potential customers because of the uncertainty. BTW These are really convincing fakes, including the high quality retail packaging, the software included, even a little zipper pouch that says SanDisk on it. Maybe it will be best not to buy expensive SanDisk for some time to come.

Make sure you have a UDMA camera5
First off...make sure you have a UDMA compliant camera or you will be spending extra money that won't offer any benefit. If you're camrea doesn't supprt UDMA, don't come back here and whine that it's slow. In fact it may cause problems but from what I've read those are few and far between.

Secondly, the Extreme IV is actually rated at 45MB/s now (UDMA). If you order a card and it's not 45MB/s, send it back as it's old stock.

As for the performance of the card, it's a perfect match for my 50D. I use a number of them while shooting sporting events and they keep up just fine with the 6.3 FPS the 50D can do. Never had one fail on me even in less than perfect conditions.

If you have a UDMA compliant camera, give this card a shot. If you don't have a UDMA compliant camera, go for the Exteme III.

8 GB CompactFlash Card is fast.5
I was first concerned that the card would work with my Canon XT. I tried and was very impressed with ease of format and download speed. I could tell the difference with my prior II speed chip. I wanted this size to use on vacation in the fall of 2007. Cruise up the New England coast to Nova Scotia. I shoot all in RAW format so I use a lot of space. I am very happy with the SanDisk 8 GB Extreme IF CompactFlash Card.
