The sleek style of JumpDrive Lightning is more than just good looks. Beneath its attractive stainless steel exterior lies massive memory capacity and the power of blazing-fast read/write speeds; 4GB capable of minimum sustained speeds of 140X * (18MB/sec) write and 160X (24MB/sec) read—ideal for quickly transferring vast amounts of data. If speed and capacity weren’t enough, JumpDrive Lightning also includes PowerToGo software, a portable working environment that lets you install and run most standard Windows applications from your JumpDrive, so you can carry personalized settings and bookmarks with you wherever you go. Fast USB Flash Drive5
There are lots of USB flash drives on the market and many brands market multiple models in multiple sizes. Performance differences can be huge (factor of 10) between brands and between different models within one brand and yet most companies don't publish performance information except possibly for their highest end model. This makes for a very confusing and frustrating market for users. With smaller drives performance is less of an issue, but if you're shopping for a 4 GB drive and really plan to use that space, performance is key. Imagine the difference between 3 minutes and 30 minutes for a transfer. Lexar Jumpdrive Lightning drives actually improve the performance of their larger drives. The performance listed on Amazon is actually the performance for the smaller 2 GB drive; the 4 GB drive is rated at 30MB/s read and 21MB/s write. This makes it one of the fastest drives available. Though performance can depend on the type of test you run, in very limited testing for me, it lived up to its performance claim.

I haven't used the included software, so can't comment on that.

A blue LED on the drive is a nice touch, but it ends up on the down side of the drive in my 3 yr old Dell mini tower and so doesn't show.

The end cap is potential losable, but so far seems to stick on well enough.

The drive may be a little on the thick side and could potentially block usage of an adjacent USB port depending on the connector to the adjacent port, but so far this hasn't been a problem for me.

Overall a great product for my usage.

Great product5
This is a good product both in size and performance.

The only problem is that the PowerToGo software that comes preinstalled is not quite "Vista Ready" yet. However, the Lexar and Ceedo web sites have upgrades that can fix that. I've been using it now for over a month and have not had any problems with it.

4GB is a perfect size for maintaining all my work available for use on multiple computers. I'd definitely recommend this product.

Good performer5
The 4 GB jump drive is a terrific assistance for those who want to be able to store files in a portable medium.

To this point, the unit fits nicely into its "holder"; I lost the end to my 256 MB Lexar jump drive--most annoying. This system, to this point, seems to work better.

The capacity of the jump drive is a major positive factor. Once one begins to store files that take up space, smaller capacity jump drives can get overwhelmed. 4 GB is more than enough space for my uses.

It takes longer to transfer files than for my old 256 MB Lexar jump drive. On the other hand, that's a small price to pay for the much larger space available.

All in all, I'm a satisfied customer.
