The E-TTL Off-Camera Flash Extension Cord is an extremely useful accessory for Canon EOS series digital & 35mm film SLR cameras, allowing an external flash to be used away from the camera. The flash can be located as far as 3 feet away from the camera and still perform all the automatic functions possible with flash photography.

Using an off-camera flash provides the photographer with the flexibility to direct light from a variety of angles, allowing simple but effective fill lighting for balancing outdoor shots or hiding shadows under harsh indoor lights. This item is a piece of junk
When I tested it out of the box, it worked. When I shot a wedding the next day, it didn't work. It hasn't worked since. Unfortunately, Cameta Camera's 14-day exchange on defective merchandise policy only covers the price of the product and no shipping fees, so I have to ship it back at my own expense. I am 100% completely dissatisfied with this product and I will never purchase anything from Cameta Camera ever again.

Unreliable
This item is very hard to get off once inserted to hot shoe. The bad thing is even though it is hard to get it out, it is also unreliable as well. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Avoid.

Don't Buy It
The cable simply did not work in the ETTL Mode as advertised. I have a Canon XTi Rebel Digital with a 430ex speedlite. Spend the extra $$$ and buy the Canon cable.
