Feature set and image quality are second to none.

I use this as a walk about lens primarily when out shooting nature. The 17mm wide angle makes for some impressive shots.

Great for shooting sports and candids of people and kids without being in-your-face. Image Stabilization allows shooting in lower light situations.

I use this in conjunction with my off camera flash bracket with a softbox mounted on the flash to obtain excellent results.

Adds extra battery capacity and has function buttons duplicated for easy access when shooting in portrait orientation. Adds bulk to the camera which aids in balance when using heavy telephoto lenses. I recently shot 11 hours of a wedding day (22GB worth of images) without ever having the batteries run low. Has a tray to accept AA batteries in an emergency.

Excellent backpack, shoulder straps are well padded and has both sternum and waist straps that help distibute the weight evenly. Room for 1 body, 4 lenses, acces., tripod straps and room in the external mesh pocket to stuff my down vest in case of inclement weather. Adjustable velcro panels and a strap to hold the camera body in place.
