Customer Reviews

Customer Service??2
The Ball Home Canning Kit was delivered from Homeandbeyond very quickly, however the pot was dented on two sides even though the box was not damaged. I called Homeandbeyond's customer service number and was told to send the damaged kit back to them at MY EXPENSE, after further discussion they agreed to prepay the shipping on the condition I ship the kit within 48 hours. I did this, and verified reciept through UPS and verified it was delivered the next day. Eleven days and two phone calls later the replacement arrived. What I received was a kit that had been returned to them by someone else, all the internal packing was missing, the decorative lids were missing, the jars were loose in the box and the lid has a scratch on it. Fortunately, none of the jars broke. We are keeping this kit because dealing with Homeandbeyond again is not worth it. The kit itself seems OK, but I recommend if you want one, go the the store and buy it, stay clear of Homeandbeyond.

Worst customer service1
I'm sure this kit is wonderful. I look at it every so often wondering if I will ever receive the order I placed 6 weeks ago. I also wonder why their customer service (when you can get through) bothers to tell you they are shipping at the 'end of the week' when it is so obviously a lie. Don't deal with these folks. They can't ship and they won't tell you why. On backorder is ridiculous. If they have a problem, then they shouldn't take orders until the problem is resolved.

Put on hold -- indefinitely. 1
I ordered this canning system a few days ago and got an email from Polsteins Home & Beyond (the vender) saying that they are in a back order situation and "will be in contact with you if the item(s) are not going to ship within a reasonable amount of time." Who knows what a reasonable amount of time is but if I knew it was going to be indefinite I would have purchased another model!! Furthermore, both Amazon and their own website indicate they have the product in stock!! Where is the truth in advertising?? If they are on back order, why don't they tell their customers?? The canning set may well be fantastic... but it doesn't look like I'll know whether it is for some time to come. Who knows how long. My experience with other back order situations is that if it will be relatively soon, the vender knows this and lets you know the time frame ... so I'm on hold ... indefinitely. This is the most disappointing service that I've ever received when ordering through Amazon. Wouldn't suggest ordering from Polsteins Home & Beyond if you can avoid it....
