Disappointing...3
I had to return this pack. In the area that I hike in a bear cannister is required. Once the cannister is loaded in the pack you have very little room for anything else. It also distorts the frameless pack body so badly that it is unwearable. I tried walking around with this pack loaded for about 15 minutes and got a raw spot in the middle of my back where the frame adjustment flap is. Also the straps are small and the tie down points are too few. This precluded tying the bear cannister down on the outside.
The camera compartment is another problem. You can get a bunch of small(4/3)DSLR stuff in it as shown on their website, but I found that one D700/w 17-35 lens and one extra lens plus card carriers and cleaning supplies was all that I could manage to get into it. Also the design of the floor of the main pack is angled making it difficult to get a full sized DSLR out easily.
I would recommend this pack as a light weight overniter for minimalist backpackers with a small DSLR set up. But for serious trips of more than one day I would not recommend this pack.
