Amanda holding up so far!!!!Brittney loves her!!!
We just got the doll for my daughters birthday(4th). At first when i was programming her in the living room with the tv on and my hubby talking and telling me I didn't know what I was doing it was a bit frustrating, but then I just put her to the side and waited to do it the next day with my daughter. I had to tv off and explained to my child that in order for me to "make her work'", she had to wait quietly for a few minutes for me to program her. That worked wonders I did it in less than 10 minutes and then it was my daughters turn to say her name to amanda so amanda could recognize her, it took a few trys but it was done, and now amanda recognizes only her voice. I could answer amanda but she ignores me in other words doesn't recognize me as her mommy just my little girl. So far it is working fine, but my little one has to speak CLEARLY and not loud but not too soft either. All the accessories that came with her are working fine, she knows when she eats a cookie or us having her teeth brushed or is having her hair brushed etc., She does talk alot but you can put her to sleep before her bedtime. I love to see my brittney playing mommy and see her respond to the doll when amanda says she needs a hug or has to go potty or is hungry or just wants a snack and you should hear her cry and play making faces LOL. It is worth the 100.00 and more to see my baby so happy.I have the newer model that takes 4 c batteries instead of 3 c batteries, because I heard the batteries drain real fast with the doll that takes 3 c's.
So far she wakes and sleeps at the time programmed, I wish it was that simple to get my little one to go to bed,lol
wait till the price comes down
I have two daughters so my husband and I purchased two of these dolls for Christmas. My seven year old plays with her doll more than my five year old.My five year old says the doll talks too much and she wishes she would just go to sleep and be quiet. My daughters are given just about every doll that comes out and I thought this would be their favorite and boy was I dissapointed when I learned otherwise. The doll isnt worth 100.00 or even close to it.Wait until the price goes down. Both dolls lips peeled within the first couple of days of having the doll. My daughters take excellent care of their toys so I know this wasnt their fault. I dont know what happened to the voice recognition. Because both dolls respond to anyone. Yes! I read the instructions and yes I programmed the doll properly. I noticed that some are saying they do not have any problems with their dolls and a lot of us are having the same problems with the dolls. Which steers me to believe the obvious...some of us got stuck with some major malfunctioning dolls. I've reprogrammed the doll twice just to make sure and yep its the doll. What a waste of money! Still interested? Just make sure that you have one that functions properly if not you will be sadly dissapointed.
AVERY'S DADDY
HoHo brought Avery this doll for christmas-she is 4-Avery loves Amanda and especially enjoys the fact that Amanda recognizes the holidays-as we speak, she is reminding Avery that Valentines day is right around the corner! This is Avery's new "alarm clock"-it wakes her up at 8:00 every morning for preschool! Avery especially likes the fact that Amanda only recognizes her as mommy! Well worth the money!
