Well-equipped for work, our canvas carpenter short includes a hammer loop and ruler pocket on each leg, plus a utility band on the right side seam. Made from 8.5-ounce, 100% ring-spun cotton canvas, it has a 13-inch inseam, sits slightly below the natural waist and has extra wide belt loops. For added durability, the back patch pockets are reinforced.

Superb
I've gotten to the point where I wear Carhartt shorts all summer long. With these I have the tan only. Yes, I too love them for their durability and they retain their shape well. What I like best about them though is how they fit. Also, the two side panel pockets are great. The cellphone pocket, in particular, is perfectly sized. In the other one I place all of my gum and miscellaneous stuff. What goes into your pockets stays in your pockets! They're a great help especially when it's too hot to wear a coat or jacket. They're a great value and you'll get several seasons of wear out of them.
Carhartts are the best!
Tough, rugged, easy to care for. The leg pockets in the cargo shorts are perfect for a paperback book or some tools. These things just don't wear out.
As a person of very short (dwarf) stature, the shorts are actually perfect length long pants on me. This saves me from having to alter long pants. I highly recommend them for people like myself in this regard.
