Moar, plz!!!1!!3
Catchy title and nice photo of a bad-*ass cat on cover, but falls short of potential. Cheezpeeps and others know that kittehs know more ways to take over teh whirled than 14 cat-igories, a mere 192 pages in all!

The book is arranged into 14 chapters, in alphabetical order, starting with "Bewar of Menni Danjurs!" and ending with "Survive Pointy Fingers--Deny, Deny, Deny". Alphabetical is good--we frequently make fun alphabetical lists in our threads, and many are quite clever and funny--but why oh why can't this new book do the rest of the alphabet? That's a big part of the fun, seeing what outlandish terms can be fitted into the thread, from A all the way to Z. Lolcats and their peeps are CREATIVE!

Also about the arrangement: there are actually no chapter headings; it is only in the index at the end that you can see the 14 categories. The good news here is that each LOL is listed and credit given to the contributors. But there is no table of contents at the beginning of the book. Rather, each section is preceded a cartoon-y drawing of cats, for example, on "Kill dem till they Die", a group of cats, armed with "stuffs" attend a lecture on "hoomanz weaknizez".

This book has a few good ones--funny or classic lols, but most are mediocre. I am glad to see that they have included the "Invisible [something]" meme, one we haven't seen much of lately. The classic, of course, is "invisible bicycle". But WHERE is the monorail cat? Or Bunnyways Airlines? Surely transportation is important when plotting a world takeover! Ceiling cat or Basement cat aren't here, either. The Basement Kitteh and his minions are super important in world domination, IMHO. Also, when kittehs get in trouble, they like to blame teh goggies or get you to splort from the cuteness (look at the cute, not the mess). And they can slay us with their "rawr". They are good at getting into our stuff/world (gravity, computer, etc) and messing with it. Some really funny LOLs in the format "I'm in your PC, stealing your Internets". So much wasted potential!

In short, this book is just too short. "How to Take over Teh Wurld" has a good message, but for twelve bucks it should be about twice as long, and more funny, too.

MOAR KITTEHS!

Ok, I couldn't resist. This book is adorable. It's another undersized book -- maybe a little bigger than your average audio CD case. The pictures are worth every penny though. They cover each page. Full color KITTEHS. Utterly adorable. The author even gives credit to the people who wrote the original lolcat captions. (classy move)

The cat on the cover looks like he's ready to take over the world. (Dr. EVUL KITTEH?)

Get this book. Even if you only flip through it once, it's worth the laughs and the "awwwws". Get a couple. They make for great office/birthday gifts.
