Live, and Truly Alive
Rollins gives everythiing his all. In interviews, he tells the world that he has no life outside of his work. His books, acting, producing and music are all he does, from waking to sleep. In this amazing live album, you can see that his devotion communicates to his live shows. I've been a fan since the Black Flag days, and his music has only gotten better. The band is amazing, with a bottom end that begs for bigger speakers. There are few breaks in the set, with one blistering song vaulting into the next. This is truly representative of his live shows, as any true fan knows. In the liner notes, Hank says that he takes the band into a basement with the heat on in order to practice for the venues they expect to play, so that they can outlast their audience. I can tell you from experience that it's true.
Rollins gathers from the history of the band, with good representation from earlier albums. Get Some Go Again and Nice are more prominently featured, as you'd expect, but there are selections from the entire catalogue. The band is tight and professional, obviously having a blast doing the show.
This stuff is awesome. "Stop Look & Listen" sounds better than the original studio cut. "Starve," long one of my personal favorites, is delivered with enough heat to take off the skin of listeners too close to the speaker. "Hello," another favorite, is even creepier done live.
There are a few songs that I would have liked on this tour. My favorite cut is "Hero," and I don't know if he's ever done it live. I know he's probably sick of "Liar," but it's a great cut and is a good transition song that gets the audience into a good mood for later, more energetic tracks. Plus, Hank could bring the house down just by including a Black Flag song like "Black Coffee" in one of his shows.
Overall, one of Punk's best, and maybe one of the best in Rock today, gives you more than you paid for.

Another Right Hook from Henry
You honestly can't ever go wrong with the Rollins Band. Sure, The End of Silence crushes Nice, but Nice isn't that bad of a record. You always know that you'll get a quality product out of Henry. This performance is just that... another great live show, performed in the fine city of Chicago (at one of my favorite venues)... sure, Henry's older. His yell has turned into more of a shout... it's not as intense as the set recorded for the "Insert Band Here" record... but it's still a high octane performance. The setlist is balanced with half-Nice material, and half-older material. Most of the older material, however, is pulled from the Get Some, Go Again record, but there are a few surprises thrown in for good measure. Never thought I'd hear Henry perform anything off Weight, but he opens with 'Disconnect.' Hearing 'Low Self Opinion' is another treat... I personally haven't heard that song since the Come In & Burn tour. 'All I Want' and 'Starve' are equally as crushing with Mother Superior pummelling the riffs out. Stand out tracks? 'Gone Inside the Zero,' 'Stop, Look, & Listen,' & 'All I Want.' One thing that I've come to learn... no matter what songs Henry plays live, you'll never be disappointed.

Only way to know the new Rollins band for sure
This, yet another live offering from the Rollins band (a band that has built it's reputation and following from going "all the way live") is a great document; particularly for those of us lucky enough to have been there. The set-list covers the entire RB career and it was great to hear old songs like "Disconnect," "Low self opinion" and "You didn't need" infused with new life. The new material is highly represented (as always with the RB) and is strong as well. The bonus material is cool (particularly as I am in some of the pictures). A great live document by a man who refuses to quit
