![]() | Synecdoche New York
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $3.10 One of the greatest films I have ever seen. This movie eloquently captures what it feels like to be alive and displays it in a highly honest but beautifully artistic way. As a graphic designer this movie is about as close to perfect as I can imagine.

![]() | Sideways (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $10.49 / Used from: $0.97 Very funny, genuine in a dry wit kind of way. The characters are lovable and the humor is dead on. Plus, I love Santa Barbara!
|
![]() | Naked Lunch - Criterion Collection
Buy new: $29.49 / Used from: $19.84 A great Cronenberg adaption of the Burroughs classic. Nothing like the book really but instead a great biography of Burroughs' life.
|
![]() | The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - Criterion Collection
Buy new: $18.99 / Used from: $4.48 Arguably one of Wes Anderson's best movies and starring Bill Murray whom I have loved since seeing Ghost Busters as a child. I love the scene at the end where he finally finds the shark. Great stuff - very moving!
|
![]() | American Splendor
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $0.75 It's a movie about Harvey Pekar's life - what more needs to be said. Paul Giamatti plays Harvey really well and the movie is moving and hilarious in equal doses!
|
![]() | The Royal Tenenbaums (The Criterion Collection)
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $5.95 Another great movie from Wes Anderson. Charming and whimsical - detailed and deeply moving. Great cast, very memorable moments and lines.
|
![]() | Rushmore - Criterion Collection
Buy used from: $38.99 The first Wes Anderson movie I saw. This movie changed the way I looked at cinema and encouraged me to seek out other great works of cinema.
|
![]() | What Dreams May Come
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $1.53 My Uncle first described this movie to me as "the most depressing pile of garbage he had ever seen." Yes, it is sort of depressing but it's also very creative, funny and honest. The movies final scene is so beautiful it defies words. It really gets to the root of what we can be willing to do for those we love (in a metaphorical way of course!)
|
![]() | Jacob's Ladder
Buy new: $8.49 / Used from: $2.16 The second movie to change the way I looked at cinema. I didn't know what to expect when watching this for the first time so was very surprised by the progress of the story. Tim Robbins was great and played a very believable role in this supernatural drama.
|
![]() | Lost in Translation
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $1.20 For me, this is a movie about the best kind of love. The kind of love you never act on because you realize that if you do, it is ruined. The first film I have ever seen about true, innocent love. A gentle and masterful movie. As a bonus, Bill sings Roxy Music's "More Than This."

![]() | Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind [Region 2]
Buy used from: $2.99 My first introduction to Kaufman's work. Another movie that captures what it really feels like to love and be alive.
