Hot Animal Machine / Drive By Shooting EPHot Animal Machine / Drive By Shooting EP by Henry Rollins
Buy used from: $8.65
My main issue with Hot Animal Machine is its sound, it's too clean for my ears. But don't listen to me, just enjoy it. It is a really great batch of tunes. You get to hear Henry do "Ghost Rider" for the first of several times. And the "Drive By Shooting" material is really funny too. Especially the "Drive By Shooting" track and "Men Are Pigs". This ain't bad for a first solo record.
Life TimeLife Time by Rollins Band
Buy new: $10.98 / Used from: $6.98
Has the same clean sound as "Hot Animal Machine", but this is still a great punk album for the 80's. This is where Henry starting playing with a consistent band behind him. Produced by Fugazi's Ian MacKaye. There are several versions out there of this album. This is the latest remaster. Great, powerful songs that there are brilliant live versions of on the next selection . . .
Do ItDo It by Rollins Band
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $14.91
This is the first recording of the band's playing with Theo Van Rock's live mixing abilities. They have a crushing sound on this. Here is where the songs from "Hot Animal Machine" and "Lifetime" really get to shine. Absolutely explosive versions of "Black & White", "Gun In Mouth Blues", "Followed Around", etc.
Hard VolumeHard Volume by Rollins Band
Buy used from: $15.98
This is the latest remaster of Hard Volume, 1999 I believe. This was a last testament to the early Rollins Band sound. An ignored classic of the 80's. I actually own the ancient Texas Hotel release of this.
Audio Airstrike Consultants 1986-1988Audio Airstrike Consultants 1986-1988 by Henry Rollins
Buy used from: $59.98
This is a UK based box set of the first four Rollins Band albums.
Turned OnTurned On by Rollins Band
Buy used from: $2.96
This is a problematic release. The entire disc is one track. I wonder why this never recieved a remaster? Honestly, given the slew of live material the band released around this time, one was bound to be mediocre.
Fast Food for ThoughtFast Food for Thought by Wartime
Buy used from: $0.04
This is Henry's one-off side project with RB bassist Andrew Weiss. They try to do a hardcore variation of go-go funk music. I can't get into it, and I've TRIED. There was an odd music video made for the track "The Whole Truth".
Live in Australia 1990Live in Australia 1990 by Rollins Band
Buy used from: $23.59
I don't have this yet, but this is an import remaster of this album.
Pump Up The Volume: Music From The Original Motion Picture SoundtrackPump Up The Volume: Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $0.54
It's not the Rollins Band per se, but Henry does an awesome version of "Kick Out the Jams" with the Bad Brains.
The End of SilenceThe End of Silence by Rollins Band
Buy new: $16.98 / Used from: $2.83
A colossal, heavy, finely honed album. A classic that practically no one heard. This is easily on a par with whatever from the era you wanna name - "Nevermind", "Badmotorfinger", etc. Like Johnny Rotten said - "Anger is an energy." Check this one out if you haven't. Their greatest moment on record.
The End of Silence: DemosThe End of Silence: Demos by Henry Rollins
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $6.40
It is what it says. Don't have it yet, but I'll change that.
Hammer of the Rok GodzHammer of the Rok Godz by Rollins Band
Buy used from: $49.98
This is a limited edition promo CD from the "End of Silence" era. It looks like it is live tracks and spoken word stuff that isn't anywhere else. I don't own this yet.
Electro Convulsive TherapyElectro Convulsive Therapy by Rollins Band
Buy used from: $35.65
This is a great disc that I only recently got. This is a devastating example of what the "End of Silence"-era of the RB was capable of live. Of particular interest is the "Move Right In/ Obscene" medley that manages to also slip in a good chunk of the Beastie Boys' "Gratitude", with different lyrics. Great stuff here.
The Crow: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackThe Crow: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Buy new: $7.49 / Used from: $0.48
The band does a version of "Ghost Rider" on this that I think is unique to this release. One of my favorite high school albums.
WeightWeight by Rollins Band
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $0.69
This is where everyone else decided to jump on. While "Liar" is a great song, I don't think it's very representative of the band as a whole. The crushing weight of tracks like "Step Back" and "Volume 4" give real meaning to the album's title.
WeightingWeighting by Rollins Band
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $6.24
These are outtakes, soundtrack cuts, and live tracks from the "Weight" sessions. If you like "Weight", you might dig this.
Alien Blueprint (Rollins Band Live)Alien Blueprint (Rollins Band Live) by Rollins Band
This is a live set from Woodstock '94 and dates from the subsequent European tour. It is all material from the "Weight" album. It is an import, practically a bootleg. The quality varies, especially on the Woodstock stuff - sounds like a straight dupe off of a TV feed.
Encomium: A Tribute to Led ZeppelinEncomium: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin by Various Artists
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $0.01
The Rollins Band does a pretty good version of "Four Sticks" on this. Overall though, a pretty forgettable tribute CD.
Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight - Original Motion Picture SoundtrackTales From The Crypt: Demon Knight - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Buy used from: $0.97
Just so you don't think I forgot it, the RB does a song called "Fall Guy" on this. That song can be found on the "Weighting" CD.
Johnny MnemonicJohnny Mnemonic
Buy used from: $0.01
The song "I See Through" is on the "Weighting" CD.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 by Tony hawks
Buy new: $30.98 / Used from: $0.01
Contains "What's the Matter, Man?", which as far as I can tell isn't anywhere else.
Come in and Burn: SessionsCome in and Burn: Sessions by Rollins Band
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $4.78
This is all the stuff that became this album. If you were a fan of this period, this is good for a revisit.
Come in and BurnCome in and Burn by Rollins Band
Buy used from: $0.60
This is the original "Come In and Burn" album. Not bad, but I think the band was tired by this point.
The End Of SomethingThe End Of Something
Buy used from: $1.41
I think this was the only single from the "Come In and Burn" album. It's a very low-key song. There's a cool video for it you can find on Youtube. Wow, remember CD singles?
End of Something (Cd Single w/ Edits & Rare Mix)End of Something (Cd Single w/ Edits & Rare Mix) by Rollins Band
Buy used from: $18.99
This is a limited edition version. The edits and the rare mix on here don't appear to be on any other collections. So if you're a die hard, go for it.
3 Ways to Get Burned By the Same Band Sampler (3 Tracks)3 Ways to Get Burned By the Same Band Sampler (3 Tracks) by Rollins Band
I don't know much about this, but unless you see it gathering dust on a shelf somewhere, no need. It's all stuff that's on the original album.
Get Some Go Again: SessionsGet Some Go Again: Sessions by Henry Rollins
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $14.00
This is all the songs that the new Rollins Band laid down while making "Get Some Go Again". They didn't get much credit, but Mother Superior are an awesome band, and Henry really played with a verve not seen in awhile. "Illumination" is instantly a classic Rollins song. Several others, too.
yellow bluesyellow blues by rollins band
Buy used from: $4.20
This was a 2.13.61 release of all the extras from the "Get Some Go Again" sessions. This is before the above CD came out. Whether you get this or the complete sessions CD above, the extra stuff is a blast - especially "F**k Yo Mamma", which is certainly one of the strangest songs Henry's ever recorded.

I haven't heard this one yet.
A Clockwork Orange StageA Clockwork Orange Stage by Rollins Band
Buy used from: $10.19
This was a website-only release that's a live set from the Get Some Go Again tour. A good set for a festival appearance. Henry's voice is a little blown, but the band really go for it. This is one of my favorite live CDs.
Nice [Explicit Cover]Nice [Explicit Cover] by Rollins Band
Buy used from: $3.41
Not my favorite Rollins album. Give it a try. Maybe it's just me. Or the female backing vocals. There is a collection of other songs from these sessions called "A Nicer Shade of Red". It's on the 21361.com site.
Rise Above: 24 Black Flag Songs to Benefit the West Memphis ThreeRise Above: 24 Black Flag Songs to Benefit the West Memphis Three by Various Artists
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $3.75
This is Mother Superior-era Rollins Band backing Henry and a whole bunch of guest stars belting out great Black Flag tunes. Corey Taylor doing "Room 13", Iggy doing "Fix Me", TOM ARAYA doing "Revenge"! A whole bunch of great others too. It's also great to hear Henry redo a few from the old days. Buy this new. This an honest-to-God tribute/benefit record, and it also happens to rock like @*#%!
Get in the Van: On the Road With Black Flag (2nd Edition)Get in the Van: On the Road With Black Flag (2nd Edition) by Henry Rollins
Buy new: $13.60 / Used from: $11.99
And that's it for the Rollins music discography, folks. I don't think there will be any more additions to it. Aside from a Rollins Band reunion tour in '06 and the Ruts benefit gig, Henry hasn't done any music in quite a while. He's become successful with his spoken word stuff, but I think it would be cool to put some music back out there. It wouldn't sell, but so what?
